Question regarding alliance loyalty and game longevity

Post » Fri Feb 21, 2014 7:07 pm

I heard that when DAoC decided to allow players to log onto their other characters from other realms (alliances) without any timeout penalty, it ruined the "alliance loyalty" factor which hurt the longevity of the game in a big way.

Is it possible to hop to another alliance (logging into another character) on the same account immediately?

Do you think this is a non issue in ESO (if so, why?) or do you believe the game's longevity would have benefitted from increased alliance loyalty parameters?

Thanks.

Yep you can immediately log in.

As for loyalty it depends on the individual - for me I will be loyal to the alliance I'm playing at the time. This sort of thing doesn't confuse me as I'm in it for the game value, and don't get all overly serious about things.

Non-issue.

Characters cannot be in the same alliance war campaign if they are on opposing sides.

So your Daggerfall character will be in alliance war campaign 1, your Dominion character in campaign 2, and you ebonheart character in campaign 3.

Not sure how it will be for characters of the same alliance, if they can join the same alliance.

IIRC, if you already have a a character in a campaign, any other character of a different alliance cannot join that campaign.
