Question regarding Khajiit and "purring"

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 3:20 am

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuffing

Apparently larger cats (tigers etc) do no purr but "chuff". What do Khajiit do? Ahnassi in Morrowind makes a reference to purring (the "smooth moves" conversation).

Any lore on this?

Though I'm reluctant to apply real-word zoology, cougars despite their size are actually small cats, capable of purring but not roaring. I should think most Khajiiti operate similarly.

There's multiple breeds of Khaijiit, including the gigantic senche and senche-raht. It may very well vary by breed.

Conversely, hearing an elephant-sized smiladon purr would be awesome and terrifying on so many levels, so who knows?

Azura just like the sounds of purring creatures, it's why they purr. Real world and TES don't go very well together most of the time.

No lore needed, really. Khajiit in Morrowind sometimes greet you with a purr if they like you.

I'm pretty sure that the female Khajiit in Morrowind purred (well, as much as a human VA can purr)

The Kahjiit in Morrowind were also more catlike. They had [censored]edd up legs. It probably depends on the type of khajiit you're talking about.

The term is digitigrade, meaning they walked on their toes.

Er... Aren't they fictional cat people? Figure that would explain it.

To me, the fact that Morrowind Khajiit were digitigrade implies that they are a different breed from the ones we see in Oblivion and Skyrim.
