A Question Regarding Mankar Camoran.

Post » Sun Jun 20, 2010 1:13 pm

How is Mankar Camoran able to wear the Amulet of Kings when only a Septim is supposedly allowed to wear it?

I just answered a question on Yahoo! Answers about this and USEP only gave this response which I quoted to him as the answer:

"Something of note, the Amulet of Kings can supposedly be worn only by a Septim heir. So it is strange that Mankar Camoran is wearing it with ease, even though it always slips off the player's neck when equipped."

What are your thoughts on why he can wear it and our characters can not?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I haven't used the boards often.

And if it's in the wrong section, I apologize again. :embarrass:

A)This is not the right section.
B ) He's not a god.
c) here's some threads that should explain some theories.

Well, obviously the fact that only a Septim can wear it IS WRONG.

Also, him being able to wear it in Paradise because it's his world IS WRONG also.

Ah, technically it would be better in the lore section. You'd get a bettter answer there as well.

Or read this?

Actually it is in the wrong Forum. It should be asked in the Lore forum. I'll request that it be moved.

It has been asked and guesses have been made on many previous thread.

The best answer seem to be that Mankar is from an alternate line of kings/emperors and that allows him to wear it.

I recommend searching the lore forum.

He's from another line of Kings, as advertised in the previews. Son of the Camoran Usurper, in appearance an Altmer from Valenwood, which can be tracked back to the Ayleids who took refuge there.

The Dragon Fires were given to Allessia, but the gem was of the Ayleids. Hence it's called Chim-El Adabal and Mankar has all the rights to it.

Yet, if anything, the blood is irrelevant. It's who you are that matters.

Or you can look at proweler's post.

I don't think he ever wore it, just held it in his inventory.

No he wore it alright. It was on purpose even, although it seems some of material that had to make the qeustion explicit has fallen out along the way.

I remember using Mankars robes specifically because it was the only robe that would let me show off my bling-bling as a Mage. Atronach + Spelldrinker Amulet-that-looks-like-Necromacers-Amulet = Cool Looking Mage.

Its actually not wrong, Mankar Camoran is of the Valenwood Camorans, and they have relations with Septims.

You do not actually HAVE to be a Septim to wear the amulet, you just need to have atleast drop of Septim Blood in your bloodstream. :D

Actually that's still [censored]. Allesia and the three Remans weren't Septims either. When it comes to that the Septims themselves aren't Septims because the whole line descends from Tiber Septims brother.

Though I'd like to see the source that makes the Valenwood Camorans related to the Septims.

Mankar Cameran can where the Amulet of Kings becuase he is like the oposite of the Septims. The amulet of kings were given to man as a gift to defend themselves against the daedra. The aedra gave it to the septims to look after (short version) But mankar is like the daedric version of the emperor for a world ruled by the daedra instead of the aedra. (srry didn't wan't to really get into it just was dumming down what a developer said on the bonus disc that oblivions collector addition had)

Why is this question always answered by people who don't know the answer?

More importantly, why is it answered by these people after the correct response has been presented?

Alessia and Reman and their crowned descendants were able to wear it because they had "Dragon Blood" or somesuch, like the Septims do. IIRC, it has something to do with divine favor from Akatosh. The fact that the Ayleids had it before even Alessia leads me personally to believe that beings of divine power can perhaps align it to their purposes (since the Ayleids, for all their Auri-el wanking, consorted quite readily with Daedra). Dagon probably tweeked it a bit so Mankar could deck himself out.

Perhaps he figured out a spell that could trick it into letting him wear it?

There is no mentioning of any spell like that, as far as I know.

I think the main theories are: he is a descendant of Camoran Usurper and crap works differently in his Paradise, which allows him to wear it.

While I'm pretty Oblivion ignorant, these seem to make sense regardless.
