A Question Regarding Music

Post » Mon Jun 17, 2013 5:37 am

While waiting for the release of the wonderful-looking Morrowind Acoustic Overhaul, I decided to tide myself over with some additional music for my Explore and Battle music folders. I've used a few music mods like the Morrowind Music Overdose packs, and those worked perfectly, even if the music wasn't really to my liking. But I downloaded the Morrowind Rebirth soundtrack, and... ran into a snag.

When one of my added songs tries to play ingame, an error-message appears saying that it unable to play it. 'Ok' is the only option, which then quits to desktop. It saves my game in a 'Restore' file, thankfully, and I have removed the offending songs. But now I'm wondering what the secret is. What's the difference between these songs and Overdose songs? Is it something to do with the format? Is it something to do with how they're named? Any advice would be appreciated.

I've had this same problem, but not just with mod-related music -- I would throw in copies of a few songs from my personal music collection into the game folders once in a while, depending on my mood, and then some random song will cause the game to crash, even though other songs ripped onto my computer from the same album play just fine.

So yeah, if there's an explanation for this, count me in as one who wants to know.

Hi!

I had the same problem. If I remind correctly, it was a codec error. Nightmare's created a Codec Reset Utility. Search it via Google, as I'm not allowed to post links.

And I think it required the Windows Media Player to be active and the usual MP3-Player. Since then I listen to music externally while playing Elder Scrolls games. ^^

Greetings
