A question regarding the Dragonborn

Post » Thu Aug 12, 2010 7:43 am

So the Dragonborn are direct descendants from the Septim bloodline.

Does this mean Martin at some point had a child?

If this is correct, why wasn't it brought up during the Oblivion events?

And if so, did he have more than one child?

The Septims are a Dragonborn bloodline, one that is now dead. The player is likely assumed to be from another Dragonborn line.

The overall thought of an Argonian dragon born amuses me.. I can imagine someone like uriel spetim doing something he shouldn't with the lusty Argonian maid..

But i suspect that it must be of a different bloodline, not the emperoric dragon born bloodline but another dragon born blood line, not suitable to light the dragon fires but suitable to take up the fight against the dragons.

It would be cool if Martin had a child or something, and it's honestly a theory I had imagined long before any of this came out, just cuz I thought it would be neat. Never thought they'd actually do it, though. Of course, it's always possible that, like Mirander says, it's a different Dragonborn line. I never knew there was another one, though, either...We'll just have to wait and see, I guess...

I read a book in Oblivion where men called the Argonians smart Dragons.

Which begs the question: will the Dragonborn we play actually rise to rule as sovereign of Tamriel one day? Or fade away like all the other anonymous heros of past games?

Before this game there was only one Dragonborn bloodline. But now we learned that before there were many and now we are one of the last or the last one. But no, the Septim line was just one family and the most famous family.

Not of the emperoric bloodline as I said.. At least I hope. I don't want to be the ruler of even a city in Skyrim, much less entire Skyrim or tamriel for that matter!

The Nerverine never faded away, he/she went to Sommerset Isle.

The Emperors champion may have passed away in Cyrodil.

And the Oblivion character....well I won't spoil Shivering Isle for you.

You mean he went to Akavir?

I don't think so. A Dark Elf in the harbour district in the Imperial City talks about being in Morrwind. And I recall that the Nerevarine went to Sommerset Ilse after the events of Morrowind.

It's implied that the Camorans may have been Dragonborn as well (by the making-of DVD in hindsight) and the GI article suggests that there were more, but there are less now than there were (which is always the case, of course).

Whenever NPCs talk about the Neravarine, they mention him going to Akavir.

It's a continent somewhere east (I think) of Tamriel.

It's just that if you look at the Morrowind and Skyrim title emblem it looks very similar.

You mean this one? http://images.lazygamer.net/2010/12/TESV_skyrim_logo_lg.jpg
That is the symbol of the Empire. If you go to the Imperial City in Oblivion you can see it on (pretty much) every gate.
