Co-op Question!

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 12:26 am

Hi all, sorry to ask i don't know if it's been asked before but me and my girlfriend will be playing this together this weekend and i wanted to know if it's possible to carry on playing if your on your own? For example, i stay up late alot, she'll be asleep... is it possible for me to go hunting for new gear or something while shes asleep and carry on with her later when she wakes up?
Thanks alot to anyone who replies.

edit: also does this game have a new game plus mode? and what carries over if it does? thank you.

Haha i have had the opposite problem. Me and my BF got this game tuesday. We each have a copy. He works the night shifts and i work during the day. He has been playing solo and i have been playing solo. But last night i started a system link game to see if even though started seperately our characters would be able to play together and still have our own stats. It works which is cool. I dont know if it mattered but his last save was as Caddoc and mine as E'lara and during the lobby set up you choose who you would prefer to be. If you both want to be the same character i am not certain if it works the same it says "disputes will be solved randomly." But he had his guy(he had an epic weapon and my Caddoc didnt so it was easy to tell it was his) and i had mine(assassin bow) and after the system link our guys went back to their respective games in single player. Though if you hit a save point it will alter both your "continues" to that point so you may lose a little progress on the chapter you were on before the multiplay. I am not sure though.
But you can start any multiplayer game at any chapter one of the players has been to before, or chapter 1.1 if you havent gone anywhere yet i think.

I know it has a new game plus but i dont know anything about it as i havent beaten it yet.

Hope this helps!

I only got the game today so I don't know in practice, but in theory, it says that the progress of only one of you will be saved ... so that person should be able to exit, re-enter in single-player mode, play on, exit, then resume in co-op mode further down the line.

1) yes you have 2 slots for saving your game. just take slot one for your single player game....
2) i think yes, its the old shool mode... i guess. just read the forum, there are some threads concerning this....

Thanks for replies guys, i still don't really get it if i'm honest! Could i say, play single player, complete it and have like lets say great weapons/gold whatever on the girl character and then transfer that over to my co-op gameplay? so could be like level one, my girlfriend has starting gear but i still have my epic stuff from my single player save? does that make sense?

Also i found a thread on another site and somebody explained the "Adventure +" feature (NG+) and this is what was explained:

Spoiler
Starting a New Game+ erases all previous progress and restarts your characters in chapter 1 with a red runed epic 37 dmg fast crystal sword and a red glowing epic 27 dmg fast crystal bow, as well as 32 skill crystals which is enough to max out all skills and spells on the first tier. Also unlocks Old School difficulty, poor E'lara will get 1 shot by dual wielding enemies if she's hit when you are controlling her and fail to dodge or block it.

The original 212 dmg fast blue crystal sword and 151 dmg fast crystal bow are also found in chp 6 if you've collected all 3 keys from crypts in Chp 1 2 and 4.

*Also, gold count transfers over, but talents, dragon tear, death stone bodies, and freeing prisoner counts are reset

*What seems to be the biggest change is the addition of campaign tweaks: under special features > extras a list becomes available that lets you enable certain things like unlimited or regenerating arrows 10x battle charge duration 1 shot kills stone skin health and mana regen big/small head modes and using special skins for your characters.

Was good info so figured i'd pass this along :)
If anyone could help with my question above that'd be brilliant!
Thanks :)

Yes, from what I can tell, unless you do the restart Game+ mode after beating the campaign for the first time, or delete your saves, you will keep your character gear/progress. After beating the single player campaign and choosing to restart as Game+, I played a decent ways in an online co-op with someone (I was E'lara). I later restarted a new single player campaign on the Old School difficulty, and E'lara kept all her items and spells (even Caddoc had the crystals E'lara had earned but could only spend them chapter appropriate)...

Hey all, after playing the last two days myself can confirm Single Player and Co-op are in different save slots!
So you can play Single player and it carries over to Co-op and vice-versa, which is good for crystal hunting :)
Thought others might want to know too.
