A Question to those who have made traveling homes?

This is to you talented folks who have demystified the Construction Set.

I have seen many a transportable home, from amulets to Ashlander tents. I was wondering, if it is feasible, that a "tented longboat", which Norse would use not only for long voyages and bad weather, but from a home on the water, could be really realized?

This is the gist of it. A mod that creates a simple longboat, with a tented aft (think square Ashlander tent in the rear) that you can enter as a domicile. Inside, it would be sparse, a small bed, a few furs, a chest, and sacks. Perhaps a hanging lantern for light.
Now I have seem the static ship homes, and I love the Gnarr Mok ship home. But where this would be different, is that you would have the ability to either click on the longboat's mast or a fixed sixtant, and a menu comes up of shorelines within the game that you could transport the ship to. Nothing that would conflict with the ports and docks existing, but perhaps a league or two off on the barren shorelines, from a list of shorelines that would be helpful. Of course, in essence this becomes nothing more than another form of Fast Traveling, but with the twist that this is a home. I thought of it not for the ability of faster travel, but for those of us that are drawn to the sea, and well, there you are.

I have no idea how the mechanics of such a home/conveyence would work with the Construcfion set, but for those of us that enjoy the Nords or sea farers, I wondered what it would be like to live in game as a shipmaster in your own right. Nothing like the large Brigantines or battleships, but a longboat is something that even in the real, tactile world, the imaginative are really enjoying.

this boat here allows you to fast travel in it. or travel around in real time. can also be used as a place to live. not sure what it would take to apply the same kind of principle to your style of boat. but i know there are also other boat meshes out there too. from junks to viking ships.

Thank you Mystery.

I have seen the Ultimate Galleon before and even have the mod. I don't hold out hope that the time may come when someone can make the necessary animations for the first person to hold a set of oars, and row, or be able to just hold the steering board on the longboats and steer in real time. That seems way too expansive. Would be a dream though.

But a simplistic transportable longboat using only the stock items in the Construction Set intrigued me, yet I would even settle for a static one set on one of the less violent shores of the frozen lands, but tented like a regular Viking boat at port.

Pity the Morningstar Islands mod was so barren, even though I know they were supposed to be. I would love to see them sparsely populated by snow wolf furred tents and campsites, with a recoloring of the Expensive Alshlander shirts and pants with the Ermine tails, beads, and feathers, but in a white leather. Would be a great resource for Ice Sirens, Nords, or even the other ice and snow related peoples just wandering those islands. Plus I love the glacial feel to them.

Again, thanks.
