Question on weapon mods, armor mods, etc.

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 6:52 am

Im making a lot of mods for weapons more so than armor but I'm noticing the weight of them while I'm carrying them in my inventory now. I have about 20, and each is .5, so thats coming out to an extra 10 that I'm carrying in my inventory. My question is in order for the mod's to work do I need to carry them on my avatar? Or can I stick them in my work bench and not have to worry about any of that business.

Cheers~

As far as I know, as long as they are in your workshop inventory, they will still show up when using a modding station. As long as that modding station is located in the same settlement as the workshop storage.

they only work when equipped to a weapon, otherwise just put them in storage.

This. A mod kit does nothing if you see it in the Mods section of your inventory. In order for it to have any use, you have to go to a Weapon Bench and attach it to a weapon.

Mods showing up in your inventory aren't actually attached to anything. Those show up when you switch from one mod to another. You can dump them in workshop storage as they aren't being actively used.

So say they are attached to a weapon that I actively use. By storing the mod itself, will the weapon still have it's mod attached? Kind of a silly question.

Thanks all for the advice.

Yes. A mod attached to a weapon doesn't show up in the mods section of your inventory at all, because it's currently attached to and affecting the weapon you put it on.
