QUESTION: What's the best AR for HIP-FIRING?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 5:15 pm

I know, I read that which is what made me think I was crazy, because I often take gun setups into Escort Duty and just fire them off in the Command Post room to test accuracy/handling. I'm pretty sure crouching with whilst scoped gives the Rokstedi optimum spread reduction, at least I found the shots to be more accurate than scoped whilst standing... this is on PS3 version, at least.

Hey, I use Escort Duty as my personal firing range too!

I suppose recoil recovery could be different standing vs crouching, he only discusses accuracy.

Precisely. There are essentially two elements "accuracy": the base accuracy itself, which is what I assume he bases the stats off; and then how much spread is added by each successive bullet. Assault Rifles have good accuracy, but horrific spread... on the flipside, SMGs have bad accuracy but the spread hardly increases, even on full-auto. Also he doesn't mention recoil, and I think recoil is reduced by crouching too.

Gerund with foregrip.

Gerund with foregrip, muzzle break and COGA. <3

Also, The Firestarter mask in white. <3

I'm so glad that i got Spec-Ops, the Greeneye is my favorite scope by far. COGA zoom, doesnt block the sides of the screen, and the lowest equip delay. Perfect for Gerund.

True, true. I've also been keeping my main character's arms clear for the tattoos haha.

I never got the point of COGA/Greeneye on SMGs, they kick too much for high-zoom ADS.

I mostly just use it on my SMGs because it has less delay than all of the RDS and i cant stand iron sights.

I would suggest a larger magazine for the euston because of its fast fire rate. The Drum mag takes away stability and accuracy, so i would stick to the extended mag.

I wouldnt Suggest using it much long range, so the shorter range caused by a muzzle break isnt all that noticeable, and the bonus to stability is very welcome.

Bottom attachment depends on how you plan on using it. If you are basically using it as a strong SMG to accompany a Long Rifle, the Speed Sling is a good idea. If you want to be able to take on groups better at the cost of some stability and accuracy, the grenade launcher is very useful. If you just want the rifle to be as strong as possible, use the foregrip. Putting nothing there is a decent option if you want to equip it a bit faster but dont want to hurt stability.

The scope is preference. I would throw on the Greeneye on if you have it, YeoTek if you don't; but only because i hate iron sights.

You can't, PS3 users just have to go through PS Store to REDEEM the preorder codes... which we can't do, because PS Store is still down. So we PS3 users still don't have our preorder bonuses yet.

When I use ol' Euston, I personally go:
  • Muzzle Break, because it kicks like a mule.
  • Extended Mags, because it has a high ROF and small clip. Not a good mix.
  • D-Flex RDS, offers the least obstruction and the Euston has the tendency to recoil and throw you around.
  • Speed Sling, because the Foregrip only gives a minute and pitiful boost to stability on the Euston if you already have a Muzzle Break equipped, you may as well take the swap speed bonus instead imo. Same goes for the Rhett, Galactic and Kross. Scrap that. After thorough testing, I have come to the conclusion that it is practically suicide to use a Rhett or Euston without a Foregrip because they need all the stability they can get... they like to kick reeaally badly unless you tap-fire, and even then tap-firing doesn't work too well in close quarters.
