Questiondiscussion for DLC

Do you think bethesda would make a DLC pack to add quests/armor/weapons/mods/other systemside ect. To the map that we have now? Does DLC have to include new locations outside of our vanilla map?

What would you prefer? A new area or more content for the map

It really depends. Bethesda is more known for it's expansions, rather than packs, though I'm sure some might argue with me.

I like to site Knights of the Nine, Dawnguard and Broken Steel as showing you can make a decent DLC with all the trimmings within the existing map with new locations as well. But if you're asking what I think/want...

New weapons and armor, all good. New locations, excellent. But what I really want are new experiences, if that makes sense. New adventures. And those only really come to me, I feel when you take the entire package and bring it together nicely.

This is all true. In fact, it would be weird for Bethesda not to release an expansion set in the base game world, considering the pattern. I honestly hope they follow the plan they used for Skyrim: One large expansion set on the mainland, with a full questline and tons of new items (as well as improvements to other game mechanics not even related to the expansion questline), and then another large expansion with all the trimmings and a fat new land for us to explore.

Really makes me wonder what their smaller DLCs will be. They haven't done a weapon/armor pack ever since the Horse Armor fiasco, and if they can get mods on consoles it would be even less feasible for them to charge money for item packs when everyone can just download as many modder-made gear as they want for free. Their other smaller DLCs have been dedicated around player homes, but Fallout 4's workshop system seems to be the culmination of that - and for Fallout 3, they only did a bunch of shorter story DLCs, which they said was really unfulfilling from their perspective as designers.

I would prefer a new area with new unique stuff and possibilities. If the DLC simply adds more pistols, more rifles, more fists, I might feel a little dissapointed. But knowing Bethesda they are probably going to give us all sort of things, from new content to the current map, to whole new areas.

There's a ton of DLC threads cluttering things up lately. In the interest of cutting down on the many duplicate topics, let's use this existing thread to discuss DLC please.
