Questions about Azura

Post » Fri Feb 04, 2011 5:28 am

I've heard a lot of people say that Azura only sent the Nerevarine to spite the Tribunal rather than save the Dunmer. The term "jealous b*&^%" and its variants seem to get thrown around here and there. Is there any lore that indicates that her intentions were so superficial? I'm kinda hoping there isn't, since I kind of like being her puppet in Morrowind, and thought her meddling generally made things better for Morrowind and the Dunmer. Cool end game speech too.

Azura cursed the Tribunal the instant they tapped into the heart of Lorkhan.

Vivec also bastardizes her at his http://www.imperial-library.info/content/trial-vivec

If what Vivec says is true then she cursed the Tribunal and plotted their suffering under the guise of helping the Dunmer people.

Motivations are complex things, it's unlikely she sent there Nerevarine for any singular purpose. Save the Dunmer, spite the Tribunal, to praise herself through her followers, to remove Dagoth Ur as a threat to the Daedra, aide Dagon in weakening the barrier against Oblivion allowing for the invasion, to return Morrowind to worship of the ancestor/Daedra, and probably others that we don't know about.

The destruction of http://www.imperial-library.info/content/nu-mantia-intercept-letter-3 in Morrowind weakened the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/oblivion-liminal-bridges barriers. Hence why the invasion in Oblivion was possible after the assassination.

I just read the Trial and it is kinda scary. AlmSiVi really lives after all? Once a god always a god? How is Azura banished? Bound to this world and then destroyed? If she really is a deadroth and not herself a usurper then she can't really die forever , it just might take her a while to come back. Might she come back as a different Lord of Oblivion?

I am aware it is only semi-official but still raises some questions and it is a freaking good read full of symbolism.

Did vivec achieve CHIM?

Might explain some of the questions of why Vvanderfell is destroyed after Azura sent the Nevevarine "to save the people of Morrowind" . Since she is not present any longer (or not able to function very well) and the people have stopped loving Vivec then there is noone to stop the Ministry of Truth falling on Vivec City.

Which begs the question. Will she make an appearance at all in the next games?

But why? Is that what all the Daedric Princes strives for? Domination on Nirn? She helped Dagon so he could face the power of the mortals, then she could come in, "help" and take over Nirn through love? Or was it just for the lulz?

But why?

Motivations are complex things. Don't presuppose Dagon came to dominate. That's really Molag bal's domain, anyway. Or he came to Nirn of his own volition. Don't even assume a Daedroth knows free will.

Dagon, the Champion, the gods, were all pieces on Mankar and Martin's chess board.

Not to mention that Dagon was fairly successful by his standards, he perfectly exemplified almost every aspect of his sphere - self-actualization in the fullest.

Yes, at Red Mountain.

Are you sure about that? Do you have any links that i could read?

Molag Bal teaches him the word CHIM according the the 36 Lessons of vivec but i don't remember him achieving CHIM on red mountain. does becoming a god automatically make you achieve CHIM? i thought it was two different things

But Vivec made of his spear a more terrible thing, from a secret he had bitten off from the King of [censored]...

Vivec wept as he slew all those around him with his terrible new spear. He named it MUATRA, which is Milk Taker, and even the Chimeri mystics knew his fury.

This happened within the Dragon Break of Red Mountain, some age before the trial. Also, he's the Sword of the Triune, http://www.imperial-library.info/content/vehks-teaching. That's CHIM, when you're the universe.

Nope. Godhood isn't CHIM. The later is way bigger.

Well, when you are everything, but still you, what then? Well, I guess I'd change all water into cheese for the lulz, but the novelty would wane.

Well..that was...um....ahh...

...can anyone tell me why Azura read like The Hulk after consuming 7 cratefuls of Jolt?

You try keeping a civil composure within 10 meters of Muatra.

thanks, I was aware that godhood and chim werent the same that's why i was asking. But i didn't know that Vehk has reached CHIM. Interesting to say the lease.

By the way if you go some distance away from the imperial city you can see the circle and the tower and they are the same thing. "Because the wheelis the tower when looked sideways". A nice little trick there I think.

I think in this case having Muatra stuffed in your mouth would indeed make anyone lose their compsure. Esp since Muatra appears to be a HUGE innuendo. Vivec has it all. heh
