Questions about Dawnguard DLC

Post » Mon Jan 13, 2014 3:56 am

I've been looking at SkyRe, and would really like to install it. It requires Dawnguard and Dragonborn, neither of which I have (yes, I know there are versions of SkyRe available to use without the DLCs, but their most recent and final updates are from August of 2013).

So, I'm likely going to get the DLCs, but I have a couple questions about Dawnguard first.

1) I've seen posts where vampires will attack cities and wipe out the entire population. Is this a bug, and if so, is there a fix? Or is this part a feature of the DLC?

2) I have no desire to play a vampire or a werewolf. They usually cause havoc with survival mods, and I have no interest in role playing a "monster". With Dawnguard installed, will I be required to participate in quests where I risk having to play out the role of a freak to progress in the game, or can I just ignore the content of the mod and play the character as I want to play it?

1. It is a "feature" - for some reason the devs think random attacks on cities are fun...
2. There is one quest where you either have to be a vampire or do something a bit... unhealthy (though it will not affect you in 99% of the game and is easily fixed).

1) Crap... well, I guess SkyRe is out of the question then... I'm not going to put something like that in my game.

2) ditto

Thanks for the reply.

Just to clarify, the thing he's talking about for 2 is, essentially, is either becoming a vampire, or taking a temporary debuff until you find a few things in the area you're heading to anyway. The questline itself can be played either on the vampire side, or on the Dawnguard side (Who are vampire hunters)
