Questions about Imp's More Complex Needs

Post » Wed Feb 12, 2014 7:01 am

I've switched to Imp's More Complex Needs this play through and I can't seem to wrap my head around it. I'm using the Simple preset and also English/Realistic notifications as I'd like it to work as natural as possible, i.e. don't have to count calories etc. The issue is that it doesn't seem to work, although I guess there's something on my part. I can get the notification: You are fed, hydrated and rested, but when checking the active effects my char is both Hungry and Thirsty nevertheless. OK, so my char eats something more (say bread) - and then it suddenly says that my char has eaten too much. So now she both has Thirsty, Hungry and Overfed red active effects. OK, so she drinks not only one Water but three - but she still is Thirsty according to the effects (although the notification says that she's fed, hydrated and rested). In short, it's very confusing as it doesn't seem to matter what my char does.

Also, she gets Drunk for hours just from drinking one beer, which seems a bit ridiculous IMO - and basically means that she only will drink water.

EDIT: Nevermind, I switched back to RND. Can't spend even more time than I've already done on figuring out how to eat and drink in a game.

**EDIT**

I see you already switched back to RND, but I'll post anyways incase others find the info useful.

**EDIT**

Before I start, if you use the custom race mod "Ningheim" then you'll have infinite "Hunger/Thrist" issues, as IMCN and that mod are incompatible. So if you use that mod [just asking], then that's the problem.

Now that the above is out of the way, I can say from my experience of using this mod, that IMCN implements digestion when eating; so it takes time before you fully digest the food. Although, all the food should be digested within 10-20 minutes [depending on how much you eat].

For the simple notifications [I use the number system instead], I am guessing you get those negative notifications because of the digestion time when consuming food. Eating food does not instantaneously satiate your hunger; it needs time to digest. Although, if you eat too much food [I think there's a cap near 300%]; it will prevent you from eating more. So I am guessing you were "very hungry" [perhaps after fast traveling?]; and you ate a bunch of food. Hopefully after a few minutes the simple notification system will reset it's status to correctly state your current needs rates.

**EDIT**

I actually just remembered; if you go around fast traveling etc... and don't eat, then you can get a hunger rate in the 400+; but as I said before the amount you can eat is capped, so you will "still be hungry" even though you can't eat anymore. Only way to address this is to eat food 5-10 minutes later [to allow food to digest].

**EDIT**

Although, if you need more info, you can also ask Imp himself on his STEAM Workshop page [he also has a IMCN thread on this site, so you can find it if you want]. Perhaps shoot Imp a question as maybe the simple system is buggy [i don't really know].

If you decide to go back to the numbers, I'll just paste what Imp recently said on his Workshop page on how the number system works:

Imp is currently working on the next update; so it will probably be a good time to give him feedback while he is around. Last I heard he is working on a "SkyProc" patcher, so I am hoping that means we have the ability to run a simple Skyproc patcher that makes all mods compatible with IMCN !!!
