I only got to play in one stress test, and mostly just experimented with various things solo. On release I'll be playing in a duo though, with somebody who will likely not play as often as me. I have a few questions related to this:
- How does XP splitting work in a group? If I'm higher level than my partner do I cause her to get reduced XP? If we're the same level but she doesn't do much in the fight, does it give me more XP?
- How does XP splitting work when not in a group? If we both attack a critter about equally at the same level, will we get as much XP out of a group as we would have had we been in a group, or would we get more, or less? How does me being higher level effect this? If I just heal her while she fights, does she get full XP or does my healing still gimp her gains?
- Are minor quests (or quests in general I suppose) viable in a group, or does grouping reduce the completion reward? Is it better to do the quest side by side solo?
- If level disparity causes trouble, is there some leeway and if so how much? Can I be 2-3 levels above her without it being very noticeable to her XP gain? 6-7? 15-20?
- If you were leveling as a pair, what kinds of things would you focus on most? Grinding an active camp of tough mobs? Sticking to the main story line quests?
- Is there any particular method known for a higher level player to help speed up the leveling of somebody else?
- Any other random advice for playing with somebody else? It's more important that I play with her than get optimal gains, but I'd like to make it as mechanically viable as possible.
