Hey all,

Does anyone know how I might go about making paintings as statics or misc items, similar to those by other modders such as http://mw.modhistory.com/download-44-11232 and http://download.fliggerty.com/download-121-629?

I have absolutely no idea when it comes to working with models and textures. I'm happy to pour through tutorials, but I don't even know which to start with, or what I'd be trying to do, if that makes sense.

Also, to those experienced modellers/texture magicians out there, how complex would you say making new paintings is? If this is something I can get the hang of after a few hours/days, then I'll happily do it. But if it's the sort of thing where I'd need to study different programs for weeks and weeks, then perhaps I'd be better off using some resources and investing my energy elsewhere...

Assuming you already have a model for the frame (Danae has given permission, so you could use hers) and an image of the painting you want, it should be easy enough to do with http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope. I haven't read all of http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope/Change_texture, but it looks like it should cover the basics.
