Questions about a mod I'm making

Post » Wed Oct 29, 2014 12:27 am

Hi. It's me again.

I have some questions about a mod I'm making for myself.

It's a house mod (yes, I know) that sits on top of a small island that's located in the middle of the ocean.

To the north of Vvardenfell. East of the island from Bloodmoon (don't know how to spell it).

OK, first question, how would I fix it so I can "coc" directly to the island using the console? I know it's possible I think.

Thanks!

More questions to come the further I get.

You can COC to the interior cell of the house by typing "COC (interiorcellnamehere)" in the console. Minus the quotes, and parenthesis

I do not COC to exterior cells, so I'm not certain exactly on how to do them. I would think that you might have to use the cell grid coordinates, but I do not know for sure.

Also you are building your player home to the east of Solstheim.

Thanks.

I also would like my island to have it's own weather system completely separate from everything else, if that's possible.

I would like it to snow there quite often.

Is this possible, without effecting everything else?

Should be possible for you to edit the weather systems for the cells that you are using for the mod specifically.

I do not do much actual "modding" of exterior cells with the weather, and landscaping and stuff like that, but I am fairly certain that you can do that.

there is a tab in the menu bar of the CS that has weather stuff in it. You might try adjusting those, and see.

First I would make a back up of the original mod though.

test the altered weather version in game, and see what your changes effect.

You can create a region, with its own weather system, by going to World->Regions in the CS. Then go to World->Exterior Cell and find your cell(s) in the Cell Description dropdown list. Then assign it to your region in the Region dropdown list. Repeat for each of your cells.

COE is the console command you're looking for. It can take cell co-ordinates or the name, if the cell has one. I've found that using both name and co-ordinates at the same time doesn't work for me, even though MSFD says it can take them, so just pick one or the other. COC also works on exterior cells, but it doesn't take co-ordinates, so if you want to teleport to an area that's not uniquely named, it'll just drop you wherever inside it.

When you load the cell in the CS, the exterior co-ordinates are listed beside the cell name in the cell window, the top of the render window, and the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. It will be something like "Ashlands Region 0,0". You type those two numbers after COE in the console, and you'll teleport to the center of that grid.
