Questions about multiplayer

Post » Wed Feb 16, 2011 7:23 am

First of all I want to point out I'm new here. I didn't know there was a forum to talk about Brink (which I've been excited for, for quite some time). I just had a small question and didn't see anything going into the topic. The only thing I'm iffy about in this game is, how there's the objective matches examples, blow up the bomb/target , get documents from point a to point b. I'm aware that this game is built around team work but I haven't read anywhere about there being other match types, examples being, team deathmatch like matches, 2v2, etc. So I was curious if there was any news on being other game types, my only concern against the game is the thought/scare of the multiplayer getting old due to rinse and repeat. Again sorry if this is brought up elsewhere, rather new here and didn't see it posted. Any help or thoughts on such is welcome and appreciated :D.

Nope, no TDM or other such modes. And rather than explain it further myself, I'm gonna pull a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167938-what-multiplayer-gamemodes-can-we-expect/

Also, your name could greatly benefit from a few strategically placed caps. Took me a minute to figure out it said YouBeTailsIWillBeSonic.

EDIT: Also, while I can see how you think it may become stale, I can honestly say I don't think it will for awhile. After all, I play Rush on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 pretty frequently, and Rush only has one objective - to blow up two M-Com stations. Brink will not only have some objectives similar to this, but other kinds as well, along with side missions to go with them. Not to mention playing as Security or Resistance is like playing as attackers or defenders, which adds even more re-playability to the maps.

Multiplayer and single player is tied together.

Through the game you play the story, you can choose to play with up to 7 other freind against enemy bots, that us co-op mode, your still in the game but your freinds join you.

Then you cab play the story online against human players, your still playing the story but human players take the spot of the enemy abd freindly bots.

Then theres challange mode where you can play a bunch of challanges alone or with a freind to unlock new stuff.

To lazy to go through it all in more detail, im sure somone will link you to the holy book of brink.

Btw welcome to the forums :)

Right, I forgot about challenge mode.

As for the "holy book of brink," here's a link: http://www.fragworld.org/frag/brink/the-fragworld-brink-compendium.html I'm sure it can answer many questions you might have.

I've had hat complaint with other shooters myself, with the not having enough modes, but this is how I look at this game. There are no "modes" persay, I think of it as being a hero for your side, trying to save the day and accomplish impossible objectives, that's why I don't really want a confined multiplayer for this game, where I'm in deathmatch, then I go play capture and hold and such. There will be plenty to do and many ways to do it.

Your not a hero saving the day in brink, like in other games, as the devs say "your just a dude"

yuppos, as far as I know single player missions are the same as multi-player missions just instead of AI you get players least that's what I heard.
