Questions about the DLC and the 'Main Game'

Post » Wed May 05, 2010 7:34 am

First off, Howdy, pardners. I'm new the the Forum although I did do a Search but couldn't find the answers to the questions I'm looking for.

I'm currently at L27 and have only completed the 1st part of the NV main quests. I'm concentrating on the side-quests atm and haven't started any of the Part 2 'House' quests. Thinking of 'Dead Money' as a little diversion.

I've heard that when you start 'Dead Money', you lose most of your weapons and items (gear) as well as your Companions.

My questions are these:

1) - If you start 'Dead Money' and finish it, can you go back to where you left-off in NV?

2) - If so, before starting 'Dead Money', can you store your gear in a Safe-house or whatever so that it's there when you return?

3) - If you can store gear, what gear should you take to 'Dead Money'?

4) - Can you 'part ways' with whatever Companion/s you are with and pick them up again once back in NV? Example; give Rex back to the King and get him back afterwards.

5) - Do you get to keep all of the 'loot' you acquire from 'Dead Money' if you, in fact can take-up where you left-off in NV?

Thanks in advance for the quality of your responses.

The answer is yes to all of your questions, however storing gear isn't really neccessary.

You -can't- however take ANY gear into the Dead Money DLC. You get stripped of everything...

Answers in bold.

1) - If you start 'Dead Money' and finish it, can you go back to where you left-off in NV? Yep, you literally return to the Mojave where you originally left it

2) - If so, before starting 'Dead Money', can you store your gear in a Safe-house or whatever so that it's there when you return? Yes

3) - If you can store gear, what gear should you take to 'Dead Money'? Better off just packing a decent set of armor, a gun or two and some stimpacks. Enough to get you to the start point. You'll stripped of everything once you enter the DLC area proper, so don't weigh yourself down

4) - Can you 'part ways' with whatever Companion/s you are with and pick them up again once back in NV? Example; give Rex back to the King and get him back afterwards. Yes, In fact its better this way. Some companions have been known to glitch if they are with you or waiting for you when you start Dead Money

5) - Do you get to keep all of the 'loot' you acquire from 'Dead Money' if you, in fact can take-up where you left-off in NV? Yep. Though you may find yourself picking and choosing loot as there is a lot of it, enough that you'll be overencumbered if you try to get all the cool stuff

To add on to what the other's said, storing your items is unnecessary. You'll get them back at the end of Dead Money, safe and sound, you just won't have them during gameplay
