what i mean are the desktop pages (file explorer pages).

they used to open whole screen,and have the right icon sizes for files e.t.c.

for some reason now though the pages always open smaller (as in reduced size on the screen).

also they don't have the icons set right either any more.have to keep on changing them to how i like them every time i open a page.

how do i go about setting up the pages to open how i like again,and to keep them that way?

hope that made some sense as to what i was on about (the pages)?

Upgrade to Windows 7.

There's a handy button called 'Maximize', same as in Windows 7. At the top right of the window.

If you drag the window to fill the screen rather than click maximize it might remember the size. You can probably set properties to open maximized. Windows key plus up arrow is the shortcut.

Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 awhile ago and that means no more updates, and Windows 7 will be very vulnerable to viruses.

That's Windows XP. 7 is still supported, I got a Windows Updater popup just this morning (on Windows 7).

8 really isn't that bad, and one of the people who's told me that thought it would svck prior to getting a laptop with it preinstalled. The functionality is a lot like 7, you just have to go to the Desktop menu.

Isn't it the same thing?
