You might want to spell a little better, helps get your point across.
And people should never play a game just for its graphics, mw2 is horrible yet has good graphics.

I actually liked how the crosshair looked when he was shooting. I know that it wont be final but it would be an awesome idea to be able to toggle between crosshair and iron sights in the option menu.

This. I hate how in the latest e3 video the nameless Bethesda employee boasts about how you can play it more like an FPS, even proudly stating http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzYRvaD-xkQ

Well first that would be an Obsidian employee. No big deal though.Secondly he did not sound like he was boasting at all, rather he was using a comparison.Everyone basically has seen Halo and know what the aiming system is like.So therefore no would be wondering what the hell he was talking about.

Definately Bethesda, it even came up with his position in Bethesda when being interviewed. I thought it was strange too.
And fair enough, I can't remember now anyway, I think this was last night.

I know right  I hope they aren't overshadowing Obsidian. He talks about "we" alot when mentioning what Obsidian has done with the game so it may be a mistake on the interviewer's part.

I hope and think it was a mistake on the interviewer.I also got the feeling throughout E3 that no one outside Adam Sessler of X-Play had any idea what the where talking about with the game.

I know what you mean. Apparently J.E. Sawyer is a Bethesda employee. Who knew.

If we're talking about the same vid, the Beth employee works in the publishing department i.e. they kick him out to shows to talk about the game

What do you want, anyway? You want a target reticule that doesn't match up with where you're shooting? Why on earth shouldn't the game's shooting mechanics be more normal? If I'm firing a gun I don't fire if from my hip like a fool, I look down the sights. Good they made it more realistic, it will help with immersion if the character at least looks like he knows how to hold a gun unlike the PC in fallout 3.

You know, the difference is in a Shooter you use Ironsights to be able to aim better...but this is a RPG...the Ironsights are only a visible representation of your character aiming. It doesn't change where your character is shooting, it just shows you that he is not shooting from the hip, but using his gun like a sane person...yes I said his gun...it is not yours...nor is it you, who is shooting...your own ability do score headshots in CoD doesn't make a difference...the characters skill is all that matters...or at least a high portion of all...sure...if you aim in the other direction, you won't hit anything...in FO:NV you will aim with the crosshair, the Ironsights are in for it to look better and to stop the twitchy Medal of Duty: ODST players complaing...

i expected fallout 3 style shooting but actually being able to aim through the iron sights to precisely do what you did in fallout 3, target head, torso, legs, arms, gun, without vats. Using the iron site from the gun and not sum weird zoom thing.

I wasn't even talking about this, but yes if you expect a pure FPS shooter you shouldn't be playing this game in the first place, well done for making the decision that it isn't for you :)

If all of these people had their way Fallout would be a Halo clone.

You couldn't precisely aim at limbs in Fallout 3 without VATS. And that "weird zoom fing" is the character focusing and using the iron sights. A site is an area FYI.

You can aim through iron sights, but don't expect 0 sway when you have 10 guns skill.

You said win to the cod reference. which is ur own ability to aim. i agree to an extent. if i aim for his head. the bullets should be going for his head. even if the gun randomly spurts bullets into east guam because i have a low skill, when the bullet does go straight out the barrel, it should go for his head. the iron sites should make the gunplay better than fo3 cuz aiming will seem more realistic than just zooming with a crosshair. you would still am like in fo3. but with an ironsite not a zoomed crosshair. you get what i'm saying?

i dnt want a, oh the iron sites are on ur screen but u dnt aim thru those u aim thru the crosshair above it.

Also, do u think they fixed sniping? that was equally horrendous in this game. I felt i had parkinsons disease.

idk what fing is but i beg to differ your point, i was aiming at legs without vats to cripple people, and it worked consistently. maybe the cod does help a little no? same with head shots.

and WE dnt use the iron sights. but I want to use it and LOOK through them. not point with a crosshair.

edit: crap sorry about the double post. accident.

This is not some shooter that is completely dependent on the players ability to point at an enemy. However, Sawyer did say those are not the true iron sights.

you get what i'm saying?

No.

It isn't hard to work out what fing is. And yes you're right about the crippling, I just meant it isn't precise due to bullet spread and rightly so.

and WE dnt use the iron sights. but I want to use irt and LOOK through them. not point with a crosshair

Come on, this isn't that kind of game. Turn off the crosshair.

I have to agree.

u comment on my typos which are obvious to what they are, so i commented on urs.

OK so u want iron sights on screen that you dnt use? cool.

U agree that sniping was horrible? cool.

Your takin what i say to an epic exaggerated extent? Normal on these forums. Still cool.

I would say for sniping allow a hold your breathe mechanic or SOMETHING, but if i said that id get mob swarmed over how i play COD.

Let me explain what i want since u didnt understand.

Exactly same fallout 3 shooting mechanic. but instead of pointing with a crosshair, i would prefer point with the iron sights while aiming in.

You have to disassociate yourself from your character...it is not you who has low skill, it is the character...I say it again...your shooting skill is irrelevant...when it comes to RPGs the player's skill is not to aim precisely or be trigger happy and fire first...it is understanding the underlying system...choosing the right approach to a given situation (and right is not an absolute...it is dependent on the character built and how the player would like to resolve the situation)...I admit it takes a little bit more effort and you occasionally also have to use your brain, but tell you what...that is exactly what I and most RPG players like about the genre.

An Iron Sight mechanic like in a Shooter makes sense only in a Shooter...Fallout might look like a Shooter for the untrained eye, but it is still a RPG and I want it to stay so...if you want a post-apocalyptic Shooter, wait for Rage or Brink...

It wasn't a typo, do you think I wouldn't realise I wrote fing instead of thing? I don't think your in any position to question my intelligence.

OK so u want iron sights on screen that you dnt use? cool.

It's an RPG, the iron sights accuracy will be dependent on your small guns skill etc. and it's mainly for immersion, this has been stated by the designers as making more sense.

U agree that sniping was horrible? cool.

Indeed.

Your takin what i say to an epic exaggerated extent? Normal on these forums. Still cool.

When?

I would say for sniping allow a hold your breathe mechanic or SOMETHING, but if i said that id get mob swarmed over how i play COD.

Please realise that it isn't that kind of game like I've already said, and accuracy with the sniper depends on small guns skill. At 100 it will probably be completely still. There is no RPG aspect in automatically being the best sniper in the world.

Let me explain what i want since u didnt understand.

Exactly same fallout 3 shooting mechanic. but instead of pointing with a crosshair, i would prefer point with the iron sights while aiming in.

I understood what you said and I only accept a condescending tone from someone of higher intelligence than me so don't try it. I stated that it isn't that kind of game, and mentioned turning off the crosshair so that you can ignore how the iron sights don't cover them exactly. I must stress, this could change at any time because it has already been stated that those were not the true iron sights.

Than why r u arguing with me over it and telling me im trying to make a call of fallout: new vegas?

ANd dont even try to undermine my intelligence. because your becoming obnoxious as never once did i talk about your intelligence. I think your a little paranoid about being superior aren't you? over a videogame yet? I just lost a lot of the respect I had for you.

Lay off the criticisms of the way other people post and the grammar they use, it has no place on these boards.

If you don't like it, don't reply. Very few have perfect grammar or are able to explain in a way that is clear to everyone. Either stay silent or if a moderator gets involved you will have that silence forced on you.
