This may be a dumb question, but how do I place an item on a shelf or table? No matter what I try they end up on the floor. & can you place items on a wall?

Regarding my Stronghold (I've got the Hlaalu one), I notice that all the items and containers in what appears to be my house show up as owned. If I put items in those "owned" containers, will I get charged with stealing them?

I find it easiest to place items while in 1st person mode. Select the item from your inventory and hover it over the table or shelf. When the arrow is large without the line under it drop the item. It should end up where the arrow was. To place items on the wall you need a mod for those items. I use the stuff in my stronghold and place items in the containers and have never had a problem with ownership.

If I recall correctly, the containers in the Strongholds are faction-owned. Items placed in them will get flagged as belonging to that faction, but so long as you remain a member that won't be a problem.

IIRC containers in your room should not tag anything you place inside.

Containers in the common area may either apply the faction tag or may be owned by the shop owner for whichever service is included in the stronghold.
