Post » Sat Dec 25, 2010 1:30 am

1.When you kill a dragon you are suppost to get his soul, so does each individual dragon already have a pre-set shout attached to its soul?
2. After gaining the soul i am then to seek out one of three words in order to use the shout.Do i need to find the 1st word of the 3 word shout to use it or will any of the three words do?
3. I dont know if im mistaken but are we suppost to have a companion to begin the game?
4. Am i the Dovahkiin or is that my companion, if not who is the Dovahkiin and what is his place in Skyrim?
5.Will there be a skill for shields as well as a Perk Tree?
6. Will there be a perk tree for every skill like athletics, alchemy, armorer?

2.The soul is one word.
3. No.
4. You are the dovahkin why would you be the follower? Not the great hero that makes no sense,so in short you are the dovahkin.

I'll answer the last question first, the player is Dovahkiin, which is draconic for Dragonborn, the way it's been used, it also sounds like it might serve as the title you're character will be referred to in canon, kind of like how Morrowind had the Nerevarine and Oblivion had the Champion of Cyrodiil.

As to the other questions, I'm not entirely be sure. I understand that the souls of dragons and the proper words are both needed to learn shouts, but how the two things relate to each other exactly. My guess is that the dragon soul gives you the power you need to learn shouts, but finding the proper words is still necessary to actually learn to use them.

We haven't been told when we can get the first companion, in Fallout 3, you couldn't get a proper companion until you left the vault, maybe Skyrim will also be like that, though maybe Bethesda will include someone who can be you're companion in the beginning to give you an idea of what companions are like, maybe it will be Esbern, but I'm just guessing, since I simply don't know.

Ah, looks like someone already answered the questions before me, I guess I should check to see if that happened before submiting a post.

That would be sick though. random shouts. can you imagine saying to your friend, "Dude, i just killed my first dragon and got this awesome shout". friend replies "dude, you lucky S.o.B. all i got was this one.

It would be stupid to be able to summon a dragon right off the bat though. obviously that shout is going to be obtained later in the game. so does this mean that certain shouts will only be from certain dragons?

More than likely, it's random LEVELED shouts.

Because in a podcast he mentioned only 1 handed, 2 handed, archery, and magic as having perk trees. It's rude to answer a question with a question, a simple answer will do next time k?
