Xp for completing objectives, helping teamates, killing people. Max level 20. Guns and attachments are unlocked through challenge mode while cool outfits and clothes you get by rank up. anymore questions can be answered by the http://www.fragworld.org/frag/brink/the-fragworld-brink-compendium.html

They've said you should be able to reach 14 by playing through the campaign twice, and there's probably scaling XP requirement for higher levels.

I'm guessing it won't be a huge grind, but you're going to have to work at it.

Also, you get 10 different characters, so once you've reached 20, you'll be able to go back and play from 0 again. Like prestige, except that you keep all your unlocked weapons, attachments and customisation options, and only lose abilities. And don't lose your fully leveled-up character doing it.

COD wasnt any better, took me 3 weeks to prestige twice. but i think with being able to make 10 characters 20 will be fine :)

oh nice, what i dont get is how the story works?? im still kinda confused about the game...like do i have to play online to level up and everything?? so its like a story mode online? instead of playing team death match and all that like on COD your playing a story...say like boarderlands?? kinda lol

There's a campaign mode, which runs you through the story from mission to mission, or you can "freeplay" and choose a level.

Each has its own self-containted story-arc, but they fit together if you play them in order, and there's a bigger story behind it as well.

Regardless whether you're playing campaign or freeplay, you can be single-player, or online. You have up to 8-player co-op, and up to 16-player team modes, all integrated together - if you're alone, the rest of both teams (15 total - 7 allies and 8 enemies) are bots, if you're online, the bots just make up the numbers (and replace anyone who idles for too long or quits).

And XP carries over between single- and multiplayer modes, so your character will develop regardless of how you play, or who you play with/against.

EDIT: Tweaked.

Also, should mention that in campaign, only the team that won moves on to the next mission, and the other team replays until they win.
