Quests - Things your hoping to see

Post » Tue Feb 04, 2014 12:13 pm

So I started this thread to see what folks are hoping to see quest wise.

Personally speaking I want,

Repeatable mission types. Think Star wars online, even at max level there were quest lines you could repeat once a day. However, I am hoping ESO quests will be fun. (Like multiple ways of accomplishing something instead of kill x critters)

Reuse previous elder scroll quest ideas: Like the dark brotherhoods join a dinner party and kill everyone, without the guests suspecting you.

I also hope they reuse previous elder scrolls quest ideas.

Btw, the party size for instance dungeons is 4 players. yet, for exploring and open world quests. I wonder if I can group up with more players or no.

Do want to see any Dark Brotherhood killquest. Do NOT want to see the Dark Brotherhood purification rite, that made me very sad. Those guys were my brothers :violin:

I would hate to just do the same quest 70 times over to level up. MMO's have the capability of being repetitive enough already we don't need repeatable quests too. what I would like to see are quests that aren't tied to the main plot of the faction. I remember an article a while back that stated that multiple side quests tied to one each other. while I think this is cool they cant all be tied. like in Morrowind house Redoran when you killed those mudcrabs. it didn't tie into anything. you just killed "viscous" hunting mudcrabs that dragged a guar like a mile away somehow.

for actual quests I would like to see the Daedric quests and how interesting they are. I want Sheogorath to tell me to kill a Netch with a fork again.

I'll tell you what I don't want, World of Warcraft quests in involve that include: kill 5 of X, 20 of Y, 10 of Z and 15 of W; it's nonsense to ever refer to those as quests.

How about long, ongoing story lines that have twists and turns :)

I would just like a little freedom in quests, especially in the daedra quests. I mean, like in Skyrim, when you got the quest from Molag Bal in Markarth (or however it's written), as far as I know, you could only either complete the quest for Molag Bal or just ignore it. Same thing can be said about Nircine quests and other daedric quests in the game. I want to have the option to kick those vile daedras asses too, not just ignore them if I don't like them.

Heh, I find it funny how Tsun tells me that they will welcome me in Sovngarde after my death, even though I sold my soul to a bunch of Deadric Princes before getting there in the first place. Well, that and the fact that I play as an Altmer :P

I agree with you. At least you can kill that follower of Namira in Markarth instead of doing her quest. Still, I would like to see more freedom in quests, too.

I would like there to be quests that take you into an area of Cyrodiil, with enemy alliances giving quests that take people to the same spot, with competing aims; so you can encounter PvP opposition to your objectives that may cause you to fail the quest.

Doubt it.

An fighter guild quests with an Altmer about rats is pretty much mandatory.
Quest reward should be an pet rat as we has vanity pets in ESO.

Wouldn't rule that out at all... they've definitely said that Dark Anchors will spawn in Cyrodiil, which will bring players from any nearby alliance for some AvAvAvE. Wouldn't be surprised if there were more like that.

Daily quests: I hate em with a passion, hope they're not in. What I WOULD like would be random quests, similar to the "radiant" quests in Skyrim or Daggerfall's random quests, which give you a pretty much endless stream of NEW content and point you towards parts of the world you haven't visited.

Only if it's done with some kind of unexpected twist :P

Basically, on both the OPs points, I want new and surprising content, not old or repeated content, thank you very much :)

there are quests in cyrodiil as it is also a PVE area, you can go to major cities as long as your alliance currently holds them and pick up quests for cyrodiil. was said in an interview recently

"Villages are Alliance-neutral. However, guards will patrol a town if your Alliance has captured the nearby keep. This makes it safer for your Alliance to do quests in that town, but you won’t be 100% safe, obviously. NPC (Non Playable Characters) towns and villages will not be hostile, but there are NPCs in the wild who are definitely not your friends."

this is off the website and not the interview but W/E, so yeah there will be quests you can pick up in towns.

Should be fun, yeah.

I really like the idea of being tasked to remove a wagon of supplies from a logistic chain being escorted through Cyrodiil by other players (Argonians are supposed to fill a guerilla role :D). If the outcome (success or failure) actually had an impact on a siege or battle taking place somewhere, I'd be in heaven.

I want to see a quest where you kill rats... I mean, it's a staple, really. There has to be at least one quest where your only goal to commit raticide.

As long as there's a wide variety of quest types (and not all just kill X, or retrieve Y) and huge amounts of them I'll be happy. I really liked the Oblivion Thieve's Guild questline though, so looking forward to see what they do here in that regard.
