Hey guys,

Quick question here regarding my computer.

My simple question: Can I run Crysis 2 with DX11 Hi Res Pack on Maximum Settings?

Specs:
-ASUS M4A88TD-V Evo Motherboard
-8GB DDR3 Crucial Memory
-AMD Phenom II X4 975 OC to 4.02GHZ (Quad Core)
- 2x ATI Radeon 3870X2 in CrossFireX (All 4 GPU's OC at 865Core 941Mem)

So yeah there ya have it. Let me know if possible. Thanks!

-Nick

4 gpu's?......... with 4 3870's maybe you can dish out 50fps on max settings, although I think you would run more in the 45 area on average, with max settings at 1920x1080. This game isnt perfectly optimized in Dx11, my 4.5 struggles a bit, and maybe you'll have some SLI stuttering here and there.

Well its actually two 3870X2's. Each 3870X2 has two GPU's. It's one card, with two GPU's. And I have two 3870X2's so with 2 GPU's on each board, I have four GPU's. Phew, sounds confusing haha. Thanks for the response! Gonna have to try it out and post results!

The 3000 Series does not support DX11! So no, you won't be able to run this game in DX11!

What he said ^^ sell your cards and get one of the newer radeon hd 6xxx series. Your cpu is just fine, though.

^his graphics do not fail. *sigh
DX11 drains performance a lot. currently you need to spend alot of money to max it smoothly. and graphics don't matter all that much in multiplayer in my opinion.
just use extreme settings which are already gorgeous and was the highest before DX11. you'll be fine. just make sure those OC's are stable so you don't crash in multiplayer :p

Gotchya, thanks everyone for the heads up.

Which card would you guys recommend?

Gotta be ATI (yeah I'm a fanboy)

Would you recommend the Radeon HD 6950 or the 6970?

Perhaps in CrossFireX?

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend reading up on how some stock and a few non-stock 6950s with 2 gigs of ram have a chance to be unlocked to be a 6970, and how some cards are more likely to be able to do it than others. Two of those may be a good crossfire solution, though a bit hot and wouldn't be able to overclock much.

HD 6950s in CFX are like the swag nowadays. they have top of the line performance for a relatively affordable price (For an enthusiast). so if you have enough fund, that set up will last you a long time.
although crysis 2 is an nvidia game, that set up should pull very decent frames.
your CPU may bottleneck the set up a bit in multiplayer. crysis 2 multiplayer is very cpu heavy. single player is mainly GPU though.
