a quick opinion question

Is it cheating too wear a belt that has a constant effect restore health of 3 points? Its a belt that was already in the game but one of my mods changes a few items like this one too constant effect, and I don't know which mod it is. I mean I was still killed by the firemoth lich while wearing it, but I also killed a whole camp of commona tong at level 8 without the need of restore health potions... I was 1 hit from death at one point so I was still very lucky.. but I dont know if I'd concider this cheating. Tell me what you think.

Items in the game can be CE Restore Health enchanted so I don't think it is considered a cheat unless you think it is. My vampires always enchant enough CE Restore Health items to negate the Sun Damage they get and I don't consider it cheating.

It is a single player game -- the label "cheating" is somewhat irrelevant. Play how and with whatever makes the game fun for you.

Using powerful CE items will indeed unbalance things ultimately, but then, the only one you're "cheating" is yourself.

I don't think that it is cheating either. I made myself an ebony tower shield that has CE restore health 4pts + restore fatigue 4pts, and some ebony boots with CE restore fatigue 3 pts. As a result I always have my fatigue full :whistling: Even if I constantly jump from Ald'Ruhn to Ebonheart.

As stated, its not cheating per se, but it is quite overpowered. I personally never go above 1pt of restore health, its enough that I can regen between fights, but not enough to help too much during combat.

pretty much this, save i wouldn't say somewhat irrelevant as i think its more about what you will do with what you have because i think technically it is cheating because its mod-ed content and it does unbalance the game by giving the player the content that would otherwise not be available, give you a less then fair advantage.

My favorite Morrowind enchantment of all time is a exquisite pair of pants with +1 restore health, constant +3 restore fatigue, constant.
Call em my heavenly slacks.

I dont think its cheating. Im supposed to be a legendary hero, favoured by the gods. Of course Ill perform feats unatainable by mere mortals.

Some might call things like that cheating, or possibly abuse, or maybe taking advantage. I've always preferred the term "innovative game play".

If it feels like cheating to you, then it is... and if not, it is probably okay. After all, if you are good enough at Morrowind, you can get the best weapons and armor whenever you want, and at that point it is only a matter of caution as to where you go and when.

Personally, if I give myself awesome modded content, I at least try to make it difficult to get by either kicking up the cost or putting it somewhere ridiculous. For example, I once made a rather nice bracelet for a character, so to make it a pain in the rear to get, I put it on the top of a spire of a Dwemer ruin (I want to say it was Bthuand in the northern Ashlands, nowhere near civilization). At the same time, considering my previous statement, there is a point of knowing the game, or being good enough at it, that no matter where you put it, it will probably not be too hard for you to get it.

As far as enchanted items go, I try to make them reasonable based on other objects in the game. The bracelet I mentioned above just did a little elemental resistance or something like that (I want to say 25% to Fire and Shock, which considering that Denstagmer's Ring, which is really easy to get, does more than that, it is not too unreasonable; might have done something else too, though).

Some people think that making your own CE Restore Fatigue is cheating, but there is an in-game enchantment like that. You can make your own CE Restore Health if you know how (with either exploitation or extreme luck behind you, too). Thus, my simple answer is that, as long as it is weighted appropriately otherwise, it is fine.

If you want to challenge yourself, though, turn up the difficulty if it is not already. That might even things out if you think it is too good....

How are CE restore health enchantments cheating? Aren't they a part of the game? I remember in the past making such enchantments by simply going to an enchanter, no cheating required, just an exorbitant amount of gold, and the appropriate items.
