Quick question about nGCD and Darnified UI

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:45 pm

I want to try out nGCD, but only (at the moment) on one character. The rest of my characters were built with vanilla leveling in mind and I want to keep playing them that way. I use OBMM to manage mods.

nGCD overwrites Darnified UI's levelup_menu.xml. My question is whether, with the characters who are not using nGCD, I need to reinstall the Darnified UI levelup_menu.xml or if I can just disable nGCD and leave its levelup_menu.xml in place and it will still work.

It's not a lot of hassle to drop the Darnified UI levelup_menu.xml back into Data\menus, but since I switch back and forth between characters quite a bit, and since I'm a bit lazy, if I don't have to do it, I'd rather not.

I think the only difference is that when using nGCD levelup replacer you don't have to see the level up icon all the time. So you could just opt to not install that menu replacer if you can live with having that arrow there all the time.

Cheers!

The nGCD level-up menu is blank. It's there because occasionally, for reasons I've never determined, the game decides to award you a level despite nGCD telling it not to. This is entirely cosmetic; nGCD will reset your attributes and level to what they should be immediately after the level-up screen is processed. No harm will be done if you leave it out (as well as the blank level-up indicator icon, which is what Locksley is referring to above).

If you really want to switch them though you might consider making a .bat file to do it and placing it on your desktop as a shortcut? That way if you wanted to switch you'd just have to double-click the .bat file.
