A quick question about the fate of my Xbox 360 saves...

[I realize that this could go into the Community tech thread, but it's 360 specific and it takes a while to get an answer from the tech thread sometimes, so I made it a topic. It can be locked shortly after I'm answered, or if the mods don't like it, ect.]

I recently went to a friend's house with my Xbox 360 hard drive, which we then moved my gamertag off of with a reformatted flash drive. I didn't know at the time that my profile was going to be all-out moved; I thought it would just be copied, as it would be if any sanity went into the design of these kinds of features. Now I'm back home, with no account, and no Xbox Live to recover it. Tomorrow at school I'm retrieving my profile on the flash drive from him. That's not the problem.

My question is this: Currently, all of my old saved games are labeled as belonging to an "unknown profile", or "unknown account", or something to that effect. When I move my profile back, will my saved games go back under it?

I tried making a temp profile and moving my saves to it to use until tomorrow, but it said that the data couldn't be transfered between accounts. Considering that I'm currently 16 hours into Final Fantasy XIII, and have a slew of achievements from various shooters (including the Halo: Reach solo-Legendary runthrough, which was a [censored] to get), I won't be a happy camper if I suddenly can't access all my old unlocked levels and pick up where I left off in FF.

I'd ask Microsoft to be sure, but it should be okay. The reason they say the saves belong to an "unknown account" is because the account data isn't on the drive. Once the data is back on the drive they should load just fine.

Ehh...asking Microsoft sounds like work, so I'll just wait and see if it turns out alright.

I hope you're right. I really do.
