quickest way to make a few thousand gold upon leaving sewer?

Post » Fri Mar 19, 2010 5:49 am

so when I leave the sewers, I usually like to kit out all the DLC homes before I start my game..

the quickest way I know of is taking the varla stone from the ruin across the lake and using the 16 same type scrolls in the IC mystic imporium to dupe the varla stone.

Is there any more immediatly expensive item I can dupe instead of having to crawl through the dungeon each time?

There are a pair of enchanted shoes in the mystic emporium you can sell, and duplicate if you really want to.

Dupe glitch is the best way to make any desired amount of money whilst defying leveling.

There's a guy somewhere in the Imperial City that you can kill. When you search his body there's some gold but it never goes away, you can get it over and over again. And you can dupe super health potions too, they sell for a few hundred gold each.

You can do the quest which makes Cropsford safe from goblins. The goblin totem staffs are worth a bit, especially if you get both of them.

Then there's always raiding gardens and making a bunch of restore fatigue potions to sell.

Going through the initial dungeon is the fastest. i have so many characters, I have the run down to like 5 minutes. You don't even have to kill anything. If you want something faster than that, your just being lazy.

Get yourself down to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Fort_Farragut. There is a barrel in the back containing Poisoned Apples. These respawn. You can quite quickly make thousands of gold this way.

Edgar Vautrine will tell you how to do it:
"You want to buy or sell, the City is great. You want free? Go down the holes, kill some monsters. Sell your loot back in the city!"

It's simple. All the gold you could ever need, and all you have to do is go kill some monsters. :)

Now I'm pissed b/c I was selling iron warhammers! Didn't even think about the Varla Stones! Geesh..... I made tons of coin last night by doing the Desolate Mine quest....and the Pirate Ship right outside of IC.

The duplication glitch is the best for the fastest cash-but it is cheating.

the Mystic Emporium belongs to you if you've downloaded the DLC Wizards tower. that is why you can take all items there.

I like to find a place called Rockmilk cave. It's a few kliks north, from the city Ley a win-SP sorry!

this cave, well-ROCKS! check it out ya'll!

Rockmilk cave is very nice at low level as you have a high chance of finding enchanted items and many of them are expensive.
Else the goblin totem staffs good, worth over 7000 but you maximum get 2000 for them at low level. as they does 20 in shock damage on range they are also very good weapons at low level.
Vilverin and the other Ayleid ruins is nice, take them while doing the collector quest for statues and magical stones.
Easy to get enough to buy the waterfront house and some storage. You don't need much more in the start, you find the best weapons and armor, you need some low level spells, perhaps arrows and lockpicks but that is all.

Hmmmm.....making a few thousand legit...you can try exploiting alchemy, just make a TON of restore fatigue potions from food products. Also....dungeon dive into alieyd ruins, get a bunch of welkeynd stones, and varla stones (welkeynd sell for 50 or a hundred I believe, and varla stones sell for 1000) for starters, vilveren has 1 varla and about 20 welkeynd stones...all in all thats a good 2000 septims from one 30 minute dungeon dive, solely off of stones.

+1 this is very legit and fast and easy. there are thousands of free (and stolen) ingredients lying around everywhere, you can make a massive number of restore fatigue potions or whatever potion option appears and sell them all quickly.

I'm surprised noone mentioned Glarthir yet.

Travel to skingrad, activate his quest, go behind the church, wait for midnight.
Talk, wait 24 hours.
Talk, say the person is spying, (repeat for all 3 suspects).
Kill them, get his reward. You'll get roughly 3500 for all stages combined, IIRC.

Optionally, you can pickpocket his key and get a few hundred gold plus some loot from his house also.

Or you can complete the quest, saying no one is spying, then when he attacks you, the Skingrad guard and guard boss help kill him. Get his key from his body, loot the house. Keep the key, and you have a house in Skingrad, I would expect. :D

It sounds like the OP has his answer, but for those on Vanilla this ^ is a very good way to make early gold. Providing the player understands the lockpick game!
