Quicksave Bugs

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 1:37 pm

Playing around, I noticed that using the quicksave can sometimes not reset everything back to it's original pre-quicksave state.

Examples;

Quicksaved before blowing up a bunch of cars. Blew up cars with grenades. reloaded quicksave.. cars exploded and grenades no longer in inventory.

Quicksaved before picking up some mines. .. mines blew up. Reloaded, mines were gone and the 2 that I picked up were still in my inventory.

Quicksaved before firing at bloatflies from a very long distance just to see if I could hit them. Emptied sniper rifle.. missed them all. Reloaded.. no bullets for my gun.

I disabled all quick saves, and make manual saves instead.

That's not a proper workaround - i know.

I have no idea about the autosaves. I guess it could have to do with an autosave happening after you make a quicksave and then loading the quicksave somehow keeps the autosave data?. . I started using the quicksave button a lot because it's a nice feature. I have no idea why the manual saves are so long in comparison and what the difference between a quick save and a manual save would be.

I haven't been able to reproduce the quicksave thingy since I wrote about it. Who knows, maybe I was just really tired and actually was just loading up an autosave thinking it was the qucksave. Stupider things have happened

Do you mean autosaves? Because that's not what the OP is talking about. He's speaking of quicksave, which is a manually done save.

I have had this happen only a couple of times though, typically another load fixes it.

A quicksave can only be done in the same slot over and over. Whereas the regular saves can be done in multiple slots and they actually display play time etc. so they take a couple of seconds instead of a split second.
