All of a sudden when i quicksave, its a instant CTD. any ideas?

Does this occur on other types of save as well? Sometimes Fallout 3 will begin to crash on save, which I presume is due to some form of corrupted or invalid data that it attempts to write to the save file and fails, and the only reliable remedy that I know of is to return to a previous save file. If you don't have any previous saved games, this would be a good time to start using http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3729.

One thing that you could try is loading your save, then killing yourself (easiest via the console) and loading the save again when prompted.

Okay neither of those worked.

Here is my situation:

my last save is inside the rivet city boat thing where pinkerton is, i can quicksave inside just fine
as soon as i go outisde, and quicksave...with or without CASM its a instant ctd

It's recommended to abandon Quick Save altogether.

so what are my other options now?
