Quiet Feet Mod

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:08 am

I have a laptop and I've been noticing this Quiet Feet Mod helps me out when in areas with wolves, horses etc...

However, I recently tried this oblivion.ini tweak where you set bDSoundHWAcceleration=0 and all of a sudden things are alot smoother!

What's more interesting is that the standard tweak quoted on these forums which says to set the Max Frames to Render Ahead (for nvidia cards) to 0 or 1 prevoiusly had no effect on my game and many other people who tried this probably had no effect either. However, after trying this ini tweak, my minimum fps went up by about 4 when I set the Frames to Render ahead to 1. This is pretty impressive but I have no idea how this actually this works :) I also found a tweak that says to set iMaxImpactSoundCount=16 but once again I don't know how this works so I was hoping someone can explain or point me to why this is useful.

Thanks

bDSoundHWAcceleration=0 is known to give more performance then quiet feet but it also disables some other sounds (possibly when you hit or block)
