"All the cities look the same..."

Wait wow. Go to Riften. Now go to Whiterun. Now go to Markarth.

They all look the same? :S

Im sorry. I really dont see what everyone is crying about. This game is good. really really good. and yes, I have played marrowind and oblivion.( with expansions)I think i have had more fun in the sort time ive been playing skyrim then ive ever had with both games combined.why might you ask? because of the free will in the game! I like meny meny before me, made a nord warrior,Im lvl 30 and i havnt finished anyones quest lines other then the companions. This game is much much better then oblivion.who cares about not have stats and being able to pick a class?I dont. I like the fact that I started the game and i used bows and now i dont. could i have done that on an older TES game? yes, but not if i wanted to get to max lvl. I like knowing that if for some reason i deside i would rather become a spell caster then a war, i can. thats something no other TES game had. Im not gonna try and sit here and say the game dosnt have some flaws, because we all know it does, but look at the content, people.
Heres something you guys should try, after youve been to a lot of places open up your map and look at it all, it amazeing. For the size of this world you are playing in you sould expect glitches. and screw horses, I can become a WW and run faster then em. and hand to hand? lmao. If your not gonna be a noob about it your punches will do alot of dmg.(yes people i know what im talking about because ive tested it out)
In short I think everyone needs to look at what there playing( size, content,) and then stop complaining about the tiny little specks that mar this game.

Free will...? You have free will in all of the previous TES games. O_o

As for me. Well my opinion on a few things are changing. There's actually some decent lore in the game, though not quite comparable to Morrowind(yet). So it's slowly growing on me. I'm 34 hours at lvl47.

They should have added a better character creating feature that supported a way to skip the main questline and a co-op playstyle instead of going the singleplayer style and main questline that werent up to par with what i would call a main quest.

You're not making any sense. Use punctuations. You'd preferred it to be a co-op mode in place of the main quest?

Agreed, Oblivion is definitely better than Skyrim imo. Beth should have stuck with that lead designer

I do hate having to pick perks not being able to max everything out so that's why my character hasn't spent any perks and I'll just mess around with saves when my character has high stats and skills to chose from.

In Oblivion you could get every perk but stats could be low if you didn't plan ahead while it's the opposite in Skyrim.

Both being stupid, I should be able to have everything on one character and simply use what I chose to at the time or at least a reset like Borderlands which also let you max out everything anyways.

Yes, I am disappointed at the lack of attributes, acrobatics, spellmaking, I am also disappointed at the main quest and the length and quality of the College of Winterhold quest. To be honest, I am disappointed with a lot of things.

But I like the new enchanting system, the Thieves' guild questline, the new stealth system, the improvements on combat, the feeling of magic, truly, I like a lot of things too. I do think that the game needs to be heavily modded, so I hope they release the CK soon. And cities don't look the same at all.

Im lvl 24, played god knows how many hours, completed civil war quest and maybe 1/3 go MQ..no other quest lines yet. Just exploring, doing misc quests or side quests, buying and decorating my house, collecting things.. I have just scratched the surface of this game and have played non stop. Love better than both oblivion and Morrowind tbh. And the problems with loading outside? Never had it... All the cries the same? Do u really mean Markarth and Riften looks anything alike? or whiterun and Windhelm?

To bad for u if u won't play anymore... I on the other hand will continue to enjoy every little detail of this game..

Agreed, no quest glitches, no problems other than sometimes some long load times on occasion that could be mistaken for freezing up. I wonder if ppl have figured out the sudden freeze in the menu system is because of the autosave feature....you all can turn that off. And I've enjoyed every quest so far. No problems there either.

I like some change3s. But Skyrim has 2 main roblems.

1. Its rushed. Look at the guilds. Not just 1, but ALL OF THEM. feel unfinished and rushed. OOr jsut wrong, like how the thives guild wasnt stealthy.

2. "Streamlined" common problem for rpgs these days sadly. They added stuff sure, but damnit removing speed, strength, etc was bad. Yes strength ioncreases when I level up, but thats wrong. My ocr should be stronger but slower than my khajit.

Wut. Thieves' guild was stealthy as hell. I used stealth in ALL missions. I began it with less than 30 sneak, and had 80 at the end.

I loved Oblivion more than Skyrim for its many options, Skyrim feels like a dumbed down version in character customization, for some reasons. Also I miss running and jumping like a mad man. XD Stealth options were better in the other game also.

This is also for spoilers. The OP gives away the ending in rather complete sarcastic detail.

I enjoyed playing Oblivion, and also enjoyed FO3. Thus far, I am enjoying Skyrim. Like anything, there are some things it does better than Oblivion (companions/relationships) , and there are aspects of Oblivion (custom spellmaking) that I prefer. One thing I learned playing about 800 hours in Oblivion was not to rush. If you become arch-mage, or champion of cyrodil too quickly, your character will no longer be interested in the many side quests and simple activities that add depth to your experience. Once I entered the college of Winterhold, and found myself in the arch-mages quarters taking orders from him directly after my 2nd quest, I decided to slow down. After about 40 hrs, I am only a level 12 and thane of whiterun. I have only done about 5 MQ to understand the scope, and spawn the dragons and other elements of the game. My character travels with Lydia, dungeon dives; done about 23 misc tasks; gets a good look at all the honeys before marrying (love Senna/Priestess Dibella) . I havent completed any of the guild quests, because I think it will make my character complacent, and uninterested in the smaller tasks. I will probably only do one guild line per character. I only have 1 home/whiterun thus far. I am taking my time, earning and saving for either Markarth or Solitude next. As someone else mentioned, the books are awesome and add depth to the playing experience. In short, I have no idea how you could be "finished." I do know that if I ignored everything else, and only did the MQ, then went on to to the guild quests sucessively, I would also be ready to quit playing. I dont enjoy playing TES games that way. I still have unfinished business in Cyrodil for several of my Oblivion characters. With the hundreds of quests/dungeons puzzles in Skyrim, I can envision playing it to the same extent. I am only hoping for custom spellmaking and some depth to the marriage feature to make it more complete for me personally. Other than that, I will be playing FO3, Oblivion and Skyrim for some time to come. I think Beth does an excellent job with value and replayability, if you choose to approach it that way. If you just want to "complete it", then move on, that is possible as well. It is the preference of the player. At least, Beth normally gives you a choice.

I just recently bought Oblivion, I don't call it nostalgia. I call it having a different taste than yours.

It sounds like everyone who hates skyrim is stuck on numbers and the mentality that goes with it. For me it distracts me and draws my attention to how a world stuck on stats is. I really like both skyrim and ob. In fact I like not picking a class. I mix magic, theif, and assasin. There really is no such class

I think the way to improve it is to be able to take multiple perks for each level. It svcks taking just 1 perk when I fought, smithed, cast spells, and made potions.

Also I think people are having a problem with the amount of damage they do in melee. The base numbers are off. And the amount of damge is disprportionate to the health of the foe. In this I agree, combat needs improved
