I Quit Playing Already

How do you manage to play this game for 2/3 the entire time its been released and get NO WHERE?

There isn't that much nothing to do...

Yes there is that much to do. You can easily spend 100+ hours dungeon crawling without getting a single quest. Some people enjoy hunting and gathering and you can spend hours upon hours doing just that. There is so much content in this game you can do without ever touching the questing.

I can understand being dissappointed despite reviews the game is severely flawed, but how can anyone like oblivion more? Oblivion is easily the worst TES game and most overrated RPG this gen.

Don't be [censored] [censored], Oblivion was a master piece, effing Morrowind fan boys, there's a reason why Oblivon became GOTY, It was brilliant.

i agree. all that sick hype people had before it came out, pretty much ended with a big disappointment.. for me it did for sure.. there is soo many things they could do better. i really hope they realize it soon and patch it.

You create your character as you play the game, not before you play the game.

You want to be a "NINJA ASSASSIN", then do the skills required to become one.

People are so used hand holding, if you give them a more pure sandbox experience, they can't figure it out.

"How do I become a master warrior!?!?!" By playing as one. Its really simple.

If you don't want to do something, don't do it, if you want to do something...do it.

Skyrim is probably the best designed RPG I've ever played.

Seriously, i don't understand why this is so hard for people. Just because you didn't pick something that says I'M A WARRIOR doesn't mean you can't frickin be one. Just go do it, it's that damn simple. It actually really frustrates me how dumb people are about this subject. If you want to be a warrior pick up a [censored] sword and board or 2h weapon and be one. People want more immersion and more freedom then [censored] about getting it.

People called Fallout "Oblivion with guns"...and people are calling Skyrim, "Fallout with Swords".

Its comical really. Yes, we know, its the same game engine...outside of that, let it go.

The engine only allows the developers to do things. The developers, themselves, make the decisions about what to include. I think Bethesda used the Oblivion engine for their version of Fallout and added to what the engine would do things like many of the onscreen notifications. I could be wrong, but I don't think the engine demands a large notification that my character has discovered some place or some sound when a skill is increased, to name just a couple.

And, I'd managed to ignore the final move sound until now ... just more to make my eyes roll!

1H weapon skill is NOT the same as Lockpicking.

Lockpicking does get easier as your skill up.

Well shouldn't more skill in 1h mean more damage?

So my point still stands. I don't like the system. If i spend enough time doing everything I ought to be able to get better at everything. 100 skill should mean something! in every ability.

Oblivion was just [censored]. In my opinion. I got so bored so fast. Didn't have any charm at all. Morrowind owns its face. Morrowind got GOTY also, and its better. And Liverpool is pretty average too. Lol sorry =)

I played Morrowind and Oblivion. Enjoyed them both (oblivion more)

I stopped reading

Learn to Mod yourself or just wait until the Modding Community can come up with some nice Mods to enhance the Game Experience.

I learned Modding for Fallout 3, and whenever I couldn't find anything to do in Fallout anymore, or I couldn't find decent Mods anywhere that I didn't have already, I made some of my own Mods to enhance the Gameplay even further.

Your playing on PC are you not? I remember when Oblivion first came out, I was sorta bored with it within the 100 hour mark. Then I just couldn't handle it, I was playing for so long it felt like everything else was copied and pasted from the town over.

Then Mods were releasing, decent ones, and now I have over 500+ hours of Oblivion and still go back to it from time to time. If your playing on Console, such as I, for not having a pure Gaming PC, then you have probablly lucked out. You will have to wait for future Expansions then if you want more content, even though, I dont see how anyone would be bored of this game so quickly...

Would you feel better if your female werewolf have boobs? -__-

I can understand that since my female is a werewolf but since the werewolf shows no gender how can u be sure it is a "male" werewolf? Whats to say that your characters chest did not just "deflate" and get bulkier? Just be happy they are not being picky and even let your FEMALE BECOME a Werewolf all together.

COme on its just a bunch of numerical points ... perk = +10% in this , - 25 % in that , what that means??? that's what you call rpg system ?

Its missing totally the point you cannot develope any figure out of that ... the strenght factor shoudl be represented by the image of the character , sliders ...
want to make something original ???

make the appearence work as character determination ...

mae a slender figure = better at sneaking or save points for intelligence ... make a bulkier guy heavy and slow , make it better at fights and less at stamina etc....

Honestly I come to this forum just to waste time at work until I can go home and play Skyrim but this annoys me so much I decided to create an account and post. FOR GODS SAKE PROMETHEUS PLEASE STOP YOUR WHINEY DRIVEL. You complain about this, you complain about that, go design your own game with all of these features otherwise SHUT. UP.

Thank you.

Sounds like you just blew through the game. Well, you missed out on a ton of content. I suppose some people just cannot be happy with anything. Your loss. This game is utterly amazing and I'll be playing it for 100's, if not 1000's of hours.

The characters and their designs are very badass. The lighting in the game is outstanding. The balance of mapping is a joy to witness. The gameplay is a little different and the combat system feels less direct, but nothing to spoil the experience. I am playing on xbox because I only put games on my workstation I need for engines like crysis. The frame rate is better on this game, no in world loading yet and only 2 freezes in god knows how many hours. I am now at level 30 and am enjoying the game. I was half way through Dark Souls when this came out perhaps that is something for you if you want DEX and whatnot.

Me Im a likin' it just how it is.

So you spent around 80 hours with the game. That's 70 hours more than other single player games, I'd say you got your money's worth.

I lol'd at the "I played on master and killed everything in one hit" comment. Also at the "All the cities were the same" comment. You did play Oblivion, right? That had to be the most generic, boring, mainstream game ever made.

Frankly I'm enjoying this game a lot more than Oblivion. Does it have problems? Oh yes. Are the things that Oblivion did better? Yes, again. Neither game holds a candle to Morrowind for me, but Skyrim has been a wonderful distraction for the past week. I especially loved the fact that there is no 'right' side in the civil war quest line. It's that sort of moral grey area that I think the series really needs to bring back - and that was utterly missing from most of Oblivion and even some of Morrowind.
I'm sorry you aren't enjoying it, but then again I can't really blame you either. Different strokes for different people.

While this game did abandon the RPG character sheet style if you think about it this was for the better. In oblivion you are a prisoner who says "I am this" and the game just accepts it, even if you never use ANY of those skills. In fact in oblivion one of the better options was to pick up every skill you never planned on using so that you could max out the skill you wanted faster without leveling as much which breaks the "reality" of the game. It's like playing D&D saying you are a rogue and plan on becoming an assassin and charging head first into every fight and taking warrior-esq builds.

In skyrim you are a person, and in the beginning you are just really an average Joe who gets caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. You define your character through playing, instead of defining your character in some create-a-derp mode. If they kept the oblivion create-a-character stuff and LOCKED you into that class I would appreciate it, but in oblivion you could pick every thief skill as your primary, pick the sign of the thief, and spend the whole game casting spells while wearing heavy armor it didn't really make sense. In skyrim it can make sense because your character is WHATEVER you want, you aren't putting a label on it.

While I feel you are missing out on a great game I know this game isn't for everyone.

No one knows if it was added for a future project, but there is a screenshot of the debug menu showing that VATS is in the current engine. So either it was added for the future, or the current engine is definitely NOT new.

Yeah , you're right I had forgotten OBLIVION had VATS. Oh, wait...

I Kind of agree, I enjoyed Skyrim- but i'm already thinking of going back to Morrowind or even Oblivion. Skyrim is just too mainstream for me.

if this is mainstream please let me know where I can buy any more games like this?

Exactly. Hand-to-Hand not being an improvable skill = 1 entire less playstyle (monk). Or brusier ect. I know people who only enjoy magic, only enjoy archery, only enjoy swords. I'm not as bad as them but in TES I am a Hand-To-Hand mother [censored]. this game robbed me of that.

XD not as bad as "them"? you make it sound so bad to prefer one style of play yet you [censored] about their not being hand to hand leveling anymore, just use gauntlets to raise up your hand to hand lol

NOOOOO KIDDING!!!

Could you please place the fact that you ride a dragon in spoilertabs? I have not even begun the mainquest yet and that was a painful spoiler to me...

The quests do seem like they take way less time to complete but they seem higher quality than oblivions GTFO amulet quests...

Agree.
im back to Morrowind III, i just wish that i could play it with the graphics of skyrim... ... :hubbahubba:

For me Skyrim is indeed a great game atm, but fails in so many basic RPG elements...
My best experience in Skyrim so far is with the ambient sounds and soundtrack....Jeremy Soul IS the King!

Don't understand how you could have enjoyed Oblivion more.

Not everyone thinks Morrowind is the game of gods, I enjoyed Oblivion much more than Oblivion
I still today play Daggerfall which is easily my favorite, Morrowind was a let down to me(I still love it, just a let down to the series) and Oblivion was what I was expecting.

"morowind is da best game eva! beth wil never crete anoter bestest game!"

Skyrim is my favourite game in the series so far, it's not perfect, but everything is so fleshed out and interesting. No more just going to the mages guild have a blank face stare at you, ask you one or two questions, and that's it, you're now a member. This is just one example, but the NPCs now have their own personalities, attitudes, desires and ambitions now, and I love it, nothing is predictable and two-dimensional anymore. Easily the best game on the market for me, and anyone who thinks Oblivion was better is either blind or mad?

Snip'd.

So basically, you stopped playing it because a few bugs (nothing new in these games), no ninja assassin-class text when opening your journal, pretty much exactly the same horse 'problems' as in oblivion and no werewolf boobies?

Fair enough.
