I like Skyrim better, but that isn't even relevant. What is relevant is the next Fallout installment that will come out of the Creation Engine and Radiant Story. :fallout:

Actually it is a matter of opinion my good chum

But seriously Skyrim is a good game but I have only ever been able to play it for a few days before going back to New Vegas for about a week. It's a vicious cycle.

I would also like to add that the main reason I bought Skyrim was to see the Creation engines capabilities so I could see what to expect from the next installment in Fallout.

Why is "Radiant Story" relevant? All it does is generate fed ex quests, of which there will be plenty enough even without it.

Radiant Story and Radiant Quests are different features. RS allows easily added random ecounters - i.e. you killed someone and their family sends assassins after you. RQ allows making infinite fetch/kill quests, which I dislike about it, but on the other hand it makes working on quests much easier, because different plugins can alter same quest without interfering. RQ also allows to set defferent quest locations, depending on some conditions (if player discovered that cave, quest may be placed in other).

But radiant story is nothing more than randomized quest objectives with zero plot or storyline attached. :C

But that feature is bleh too. You can steal from someone and they send thugs after you, then the next time you see them they act like nothing's happened. Half-assed feature is half-assed.

Like Dark Brotherhood Forever. I will admit that it is a nice distraction from the main game but only for about ten minutes or so then it becomes dull. I have to agree that I will not be looking forward to Radiant Story but at least it'll be there just in case.

I like your little meme reference there as well. Just sayin'.

don't forget the wonderful effect of stealing from dead people and then having the wonderful Radiant story send in thugs/assassins sent by a corpse.

Wouldn't that be fun...loot a legion base after wiping them out, and then have loot pinatas sent after you by the corpses of the slain soldiers! This, in addition to the assassins sent after you because you're already hated.

Though the Creation Engine does do something that I both want to see for F4, and dread. Actually flying enemies. I want to see it, but then again, the thought of having giant mutated eagles dive-bombing me, and cazadores from the sky...

You freakn know it, lol.
I recently put Skyrim back in, the moment I found out I was on a "fetch" quest in some dwemer ruins, I immediately thought "oh WTF, ahh this is stupid" then I turned it off. :)
Now I had one PC that has over 120hrs on it and a second one with only about 40ish on it. That's my limit for skyrim.
In New Vegas, I have 8 characters, all of them easily hit the 75hr mark, with my favorite 2 topping out at around 150hrs. The craziest thing?? Iv still yet to beat the game... Lol.
Seriously, I took a few shots at the last battle, then I reloaded the previous save file. Eventually il finish and see how it ends, but for now u still have ALOT to do before that day comes.

The proof is in the puddin' NV is the superior game, for reasons that I could talk about for DAYS!!

When Skyrim first came out I was seriously thinking about buying it, but I wanted to wait until it came on sale. At the time I wasn't even sure if I could wait that amount of time, but the more distant I get from that release date, the more uninterested I get. Hearing all of this talk about poorly written dialogue, uninteresting characters and cookie cutter quests makes me vaguely wonder when I actually be bothered enough to play it. I do hear that it has a beautiful landscape, but if the other things i mentioned are of Oblivion quality then it just seems soulless.

exactly. its not opinion its fact. some people might enjoy skyrim more (casuals) but that doesnt mean its superior to NV.

it has more soul than oblivion, and is better than most singleplayer games today, but it could have been so much better. dumbed down gameplay was my biggest disappointment. but they did add stuff too like tehe shouts and weapon/armour reinforcing.

I've given up playing Skyrim and gone back to New Vegas. The first thing I decided to do in Skyrim was complete the mages guild questline, at which point things started going downhill very fast, and after about thirty hours I found myself heading back to New Vegas to enjoy a game with an proper storyline (and amongst other things, do the DLC's which I've never tried).

I love FalloutNV, it's so crazy and brightly colored compared to skyrim, but to compare the two is not really logical as despite both being RPGs they're set in utterly different times and circumstances.
I play NV when I get tired of NPCs taking themselves and their little dramas so seriously. People in NV are alot more casual and dont reallly give a [censored] or expect you to give a [censored] about their plight, and if they get you into bed then hey! anything goes in the wasteland..

Sadly my loyalties to NV have been broken though. I'd forgotten the pleasure of playing a game for more than 40 minutes without if freezing and crashing on me. I'm sorry NV but.. I need something stronger..

Yup just started doing this today. Going to run through stroy mode and purchase all of the updates. Didnt wanna wait for the Ultimate edition. Would rather support them by giving a little bit more money for add on content.

They are two different brands of noodles in two different bowls to me. Though both still are played, in this case eaten.

Actually, I have done just that. I figured I would let Bethesda release 5 or 6 more patches for Skyrim before I go back to it. In the meantime, I have made a new character in New Vegas and have logged 50 hours or so in the run through thus far :)

Just finished re installing Fallout 3 and New Vegas along with all the (many) mods that goes with them. Now I intend to finish the characters I started years ago (FO3)

While Skyrim is a great game in itself, and I'll continue to enjoy it as a game, I don't think it's a very good TES game. TES has been too watered down over the years for my tastes. The subpar writing, quests, and companions, plus the continued removal of features has finally ground on my last nerve. TES is a dead franchise to me.

Skyrim is a horrible RPG, it's BROKEN, plus it's boring as hell! No connections with characters, you feel more like a passer-through than a member of that world. Went right back to Vegas, fantastic writing and wonderful game. Let's hope Beth lets Obsidian write the next FO , not the monkeys with typewriters they let write TES games and FO3.
