Race Armour

Post » Sun Dec 26, 2010 11:21 am

We all know that orcs and elves have their own armour, but wouldnt it be cool if each race had an armor set? the set wouldnt be limited to that race, but it would look especially awesome when equipped on that race. Orcs and elves have their own armour, and imperials even had the ledion armour. there could even be different types of a races armour.
(Argonian assassin armour, Warrior armour, shaman robes)
just an idea

Every race already has their own armor, but you can't really expect to find Valenwood armor in Skyrim. Not every armor set is going to travel so far from home.

that would be pretty interesting perhaps it would add more cultural diversity and identification of certain races like bretons and imperials

I'll be a very happy camper if they bring back Chitin and Stalhrim armor.

Nah, I really don't think so. Doesn't really appeal to me. Also, "Warrior" armor lol? Warriors aren't a race.

It seems to me that each game has added new racial specifications to armour, etc. weapons have begun to be imperial short swords or a helmet is an orc helmet. True, this is not very expansive at the moment but I bet you that V will bring about more racial identities. More to the point, however, yes, racial armour would be cool, and I agree that it'd be difficult to find argonian armour so far away from the black marshes, however i'm sure that there are traders and merchants, willing to carry goods for exorbitant prices and places remote enough to hide them otherwise.

well let me clarify Argonian warrior, Argonian assassin, And Argonian Shaman.
is that better? i figured people would be capable of properly interpreting what they read.

as we all well know, TES lore tells of how Argonians and khajiits were forced into slavery more than any other races. im sure they didnt go without a fight which means they would have had to be captured or defeated in battle. im sure their armor would have been taken as well. so who knows? im sure it could have found a way to circulate into skyrim through merchants

That is a pretty great idea. It would bring back armor diversity. It would have to be specific to certain traders, and couldn't be found on enemies (except for specific ones, maybe). Nothing irked me more in Oblivion than enemies having Daedric armor. The only enemies that should have these hypothetical race armors should be like, a group of Shadowscales, or and incursion of Dunmer troops or something.

that would be cool since skyrim is so close to morrowind and a lot of dunmer have flocked to skyrim because of red year it would make since that some of their armours would be there and it would make since that the nords would have taken some dwarven artifacts and armour back with them from all the raid they did in the past and of course the should be imperial armour because of being a province of the empire for so long with imperial loyalist still around and since skyrim had its own race of elves there should be some of their old armour to be found in caves same thing goes for weapons

Most of the Argonians in Skyrim would have travelled there and brought their own armor.
