[Relz] Race Balancing Project

I don't see any obvious issue with your load order
Basic TES4Edit usage: launch it, leave all your mods checked, then once loaded look into bgBalancingCoreEV.esp: expand it in the left pannel and look into the 'Race' records. Select one of the races you have problems with, and you'll see the conflicts/overrun records in the right pannel. That will at least help you identifying which mods the issue may come from... If needed, you can click, double-click, right click, drag-and-drop entries from one cell to another. Very "basic usage", sorry, but it should be enough to get you started...

Your issue is really weird... I take it you've tried rebuilding your bashed patch, checking carefully its relevant options/imports/merge things? Sounds like something is still loading its race records after RBP :s

Bg2408, is there a good reason to use TNR along with NPC diversity, TNR merge versus just using RBP to add to NPC diversity? While I am trying to understand the difference, does NPC diversity, Wrye Bash merge make enough changes to NPCs versus plain oblvion. Is there a significant difference between the two methods (if in the readme or on your website, then tell me to read the readme over again) and what do you use or recommend?

Regarding better reguards, is that a mod you would recommend as well or does RBP change redguards enough from the poor vanilla implementation to not need that mod as well. I guess I am asking these questions to minimize my final number of esps for my next playthrough. Thanks.

Chakka, I think that merging the diversity plugin makes a huge difference. It's not just the main npcs, but random bandits and such are also affected. However, after doing some tweaking, I discovered that OptionalNPCDiversity plugin is definitely the culprit for the colored/glossy eye pics that I linked earlier. I used the 10.5EV for the plugins and installation files, so I know everything is up to date. I'm at a loss for what the problem could be :(

Something inside the bashed patch or load order was wrong. The Integration Alternative NPC Faces contains only NPC records, therefore cannot cause a bug like this .

Use only one NPC Diversity. Use either NPCDiversity (including the TNR merge) or TNR.

Regarding better reguards, is that a mod you would recommend as well or does RBP change redguards enough from the poor vanilla implementation to not need that mod as well. I guess I am asking these questions to minimize my final number of esps for my next playthrough. Thanks.
There's a compatibility file for Better Redguards. I recommend using Better Redguards (see installation instruction of the compatibility file).

I'm using the NPCDiversity, Beautification Better Redguards (TNR's faces don't match my taste, I had liked even Vanilla more).
I'm at a loss for what the problem could be :(
D5 ElaborateEyes.esp

:prod:

Major (and I mean seriously major!) error there. If you want to use the NPC diversities, follow my guidelines posted before. RBP currently isn't working correctly anyway.

You're loading a race affecting mod later (problem #1 - that's why RBP is essentially broken). You're using a different eye mesh, incompatible with NPC diversities (problem #2 - that's why you get googly eyes).

I imported NPC faces into the bashed patch, and I loaded this esp late in the load order, after integration. Would that be right? Should I deactivate it too when I have imported NPC faces into the bashed patch?

Owned :( I do appreciate the help m8. I was using the eyes in 10.0, and didn't think to check for changes w/ the update.

My advice would definitely be "instead." Unless you've got other mods requiring either/both, I'd say it's never a good idea to have two mods loaded that do generally the same thing, if you can avoid it.

Hi,

I have finally installed RBP. It is a mod I have wanted to use for a long time, but hesitated since I was afraid it would change my current character too much. But now I decided to start a new character in order to use RBP (and Integration + LAME). It all seems to work perfectly, so many thanks.

Also, in order to understand which files to use, I decided to create omod installation scripts. So for all of you who prefer installation with OBMM, and an installation script to ask you for preferences and then choosing the right files to install, you can download my http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25266.

I just wanted to say RBP allows me to play a demon paladin (deadra seducer) and I like it much. The character is becoming quite interesting in trying to control her demon instincts (like flame boiling everything) but more on that when I reach higher levels - thanks bg2408.

I found that ethereal eyes adds a lot to eye variation but had problems with conflicts. What worked for me was that BOSS load orders RBP first then eye mods next...I just changed the load order and minimized most conflicts by having RBP load last.

Second thing I did was I have EVE and Robert Muscular Male loaded as well. With the bash M in Roberts Male, the bash patch was causing Roberts male to override RBP - mostly on male height and attributes. I used tes4edit to drag and drop conflicts from RBP into Roberts Male esp and now I get Im getting no conflicts at all but benefit from both Roberts Male and Ethereal Eyes. I now get the height variation in RBP along with eye variations that I was seeking but, and hopefully I did this right, still running a pure RBP with a few race characteristics addons.

I guess when I read through this thread you can really only run into trouble running race changing mods (I think that is what bg2408 says in the readme) in the bash patch or load order. Just my experience to a great mod!

Wow, great! If you'd agree, I'd love to put this also into the RBP downloads :goodjob: !

BOSS does what? Oh dear, RBP needs to load last, guess I have to pay them a visit :ahhh:.

Exactly, with this setting everything should work as intended :).

Yes of course :)

The only "problem" is that because I'm new to RBP, the script may be a bit immature. So I would very much like you (or anyone else) to check it out. Both that I understood all alternatives correctly and install the correct files, and also that the descriptions are correct.

I fell for the Ohmes and the Ohmes-raht, so I just had to make my new player one of them, even if that didn't necessarily suit the intended playing style, but I guess that's just another interesting difficulty to overcome.

Anyway, so far, the most important change is the added diversity and improved look of the people I meet. But I look forward to the more diverse battles as well. So thanks :)

I didn't know if I should post this here or in SM Misc Mods thread, but I decided to post it here. I have both RBP (Race Balancing Project) and SM Encumbrance and Fatigue installed (v2.51).

Today I started a new game and chose to play as an Orc. During the tutorial, I noticed that the Orc's fatigue was burning as usual (using the warhammer, running etc.) but it was not being regenerated. Other than RBP, I don't have any other mod that could affect fatigue. I suspect there is a conflict of sorts, but I don't know for sure.

I started a game as a Nord before, and the same problem happened, but it fixed itself near the end of the tutorial, when you talk to Baurus about your class and all the attributes are restored. Only in the case of the Orc, the fatigue regeneration never happens. If I drink a restore fatigue potion (or use a spell with the same effect), then everything works - the character burns fatigue as usual, but there is no panting sound and fatigue gets to zero and it doesn't regenerate.

In any case, here is my load order so you can see if there is something wrong with it:

I'm having a difficult time understanding specifically the proper usage of the various NPCDiversity options with the Bash patch in Wrye Bash. I can follow instructions easily, but I don't really have the understanding of face/body modding and Wrye Bash to figure it out on my own (I've successfully used the Bash patch to install FCOM and a few other mods)! The only type of cosmetic mod I use outside of this is Better Redguards. Thanks for any help, and sorry for the bother.

The only "problem" is that because I'm new to RBP, the script may be a bit immature. So I would very much like you (or anyone else) to check it out. Both that I understood all alternatives correctly and install the correct files, and also that the descriptions are correct.
Alright, let's see...

"- IfNot ScriptExtenderNewerThan 0.0.16.0
Message "This mod requires Oblivion Script Extender v0016 or higher and has been disabled." "WARNING - OBSE REQUIRED"
FatalError
EndIf"

RBP does not require OBSE :twirl:.

" ;** 04 Additions - FCOM
If DataFileExists "FCOM_Convergence.esp""

It requires only OOO.esm and MMM.esm ;).

" ;** 05 Body Seam Reducer
If DialogYesNo "Do you want to install Body Seam Reducer - High Elf Fix? This requires Luchaire's Body Seam Reducer" "Body Seam Reducer"

Maybe a DLCShiveringIsles check here? This one needs SI.

Rest looks fine to me. Don't know what some of the commands do, though.

I fell for the Ohmes and the Ohmes-raht, so I just had to make my new player one of them, even if that didn't necessarily suit the intended playing style, but I guess that's just another interesting difficulty to overcome.
Oh yes. Probably the character I played longest was an Ohmes-raht mage... and they are no good mages...

I didn't know if I should post this here or in SM Misc Mods thread, but I decided to post it here. I have both RBP (Race Balancing Project) and SM Encumbrance and Fatigue installed (v2.51). [snip]
I don't change anything regarding fatigue regeneration, so it looks like a problem of SM's Encumbrance and Fatigue mod, sorry.

The only type of cosmetic mod I use outside of this is Better Redguards. Thanks for any help, and sorry for the bother.
In the Better Redguards compatibility folder there are three NPCDiversities. Use whichever you like best :).

can the seducer fly " it have wings "

Flying is a gamebreaker, therefore they can only jump very, very high... like on top of buildings... if they have enough fatigue...
and is there a ini file where i can change the mana regen setting ?? i want it to be much slower
No, but there's a module resetting it to Vanilla.

ok thanks alot for the ansver,,, yea i guess it is a gamebreaker, just thought,, wee wings. i wana fly on top of the marble tower,,, well i could not hehe just wana check. thanks.

"and is there a ini file where i can change the mana regen setting ?? i want it to be much slower
No, but there's a module resetting it to Vanilla. "

ok thanks, i guess i am just special in the way i want mana to work.. i like large mana pools,, but VERY slow mana regen, " like a day to fill it"( so in my world you have to think about what you use mana for instead of just having all you need" :)

thanks for your ansvers,, really apriciate your time,, and your mod :)
cheers

Yeah! I see that, but for the Beautification/TNR versions do I need to have Beautification/TNR installed separately? Or does merging that mean that I gain the Better Redguards compatibility as well as Beautification/TNR?

I also use LAME, but while the other NPCDiversity ESP's seem to be made for merging, the LAME one doesn't indicate as such. Should NPCDiversity LAME be activated, merged, or both?

Awesome work by the way. I've recently come back to Oblivion after a couple years away from it and am thrilled to have such high-quality mods to come back to! Using both LAME and RBP, and loving both.

When installing this mod, at some point I get to choose an option with NPC Diversity.

Beautification
Wrye Bash
TNR Merge

I still don't realy know what they all do, so can someone please explain that to me?

Use only one NPCDiversity for standard NPCs. So e.g. if you use Better Redguards and want to use the TNR one, use TNR Better Redguards, do not use both.

I also use LAME, but while the other NPCDiversity ESP's seem to be made for merging, the LAME one doesn't indicate as such. Should NPCDiversity LAME be activated, merged, or both?
Import NPC Face should be used.

Many thanks :).

When installing this mod, at some point I get to choose an option with NPC Diversity.

Beautification
Wrye Bash
TNR Merge

Beautification: ntobmodfan's "beautiful" face structure
(for Wrye Bash): The original, Vanilla face structure.
TNR: TNR face structure

NPCDiversity in general: Distributes hairs and eyes to NPCs ;).

Oops that's what I get from using copy/paste. I guess I may have that in my MMM and FCOM installers as well. Will be fixed ASAP.

" ;** 04 Additions - FCOM
If DataFileExists "FCOM_Convergence.esp""

It requires only OOO.esm and MMM.esm ;).

OK. I wasn't sure, so that's why the script gives the option of installing it even when FCOM isn't detected. But I will change it to check for OOO+MMM. What do you prefer:
1. Auto-install when OOO+MMM is detected. A question of installation (with warning) otherwise.
2. Auto-install when OOO+MMM is detected. Automatic bypass otherwise
3. Ask in either case, but give a warning that OOO+MMM must be installed if they're not found.
4. Ask to install if OOO+MMM is found, but automatic bypass otherwise.

In other words: Should people with OOO+MMM have it installed automatically, or have it as an option, and: Should people without OOO+MMM have the option (with a warning) in case they plan to install the two afterwards?

" ;** 05 Body Seam Reducer
If DialogYesNo "Do you want to install Body Seam Reducer - High Elf Fix? This requires Luchaire's Body Seam Reducer" "Body Seam Reducer"

Maybe a DLCShiveringIsles check here? This one needs SI.

Both 03, 04 and 05 is within one large DLCShiveringIsles check. I assume this is correct for all three, not only 05?

Rest looks fine to me. Don't know what some of the commands do, though.
Good. Did you check the resoureces installer as well? The one I wasn't too sure about, was the Daedra Seducer Wings options.

Correct, didn't get this.

No, doing this right now... stand by...

";** Capucine's Eye Textures **
Select "Choose Capucine's Eye Textures",\
"None", "Centered", "Old Version""

Instead of "Textures" I think "alternatives" would be more fitting, likewise instead of "None" "Standard".

";** Xivilai **
If DialogYesNo "Do you want to install Alternative Ohmes-raht Texture?" "Ohmes-raht""

Xivilai here?

";** Xivilai **
If DialogYesNo "Do you want to install Alternative Ohmes-raht Texture?" "Ohmes-raht"
SelectVar bodyMod
Case 1
CopyDataFolder "08 Alternative Ohmes-raht Texture - Body Mod - Exnem\\textures" "textures" True
Break
Case 2
CopyDataFolder "08 Alternative Ohmes-raht Texture - Body Mod - UFF\\textures" "textures" True
Break
Case 3
CopyDataFolder "08 Alternative Ohmes-raht Texture - Body Mod - Roberts Female\\textures" "textures" True
Break
Case 4
CopyDataFolder "08 Alternative Ohmes-raht Texture - Body Mod - Roberts Male\\textures" "textures" True
Break
Default
CopyDataFolder "08 Alternative Ohmes-raht Texture - Base\\textures" "textures" True
EndSelect
EndIf"

I'm not sure if I understand it correctly, but I think this will break something. Thing is, the default alternative textures must always be installed first, if that is used, and then the body mod support. Otherwise either textures are missing, or you get the default texture for body mods -> texture errors.

(Another note: Does
"Select "Choose Body Mod Support",\
"None", "Exnem & variants (HGEC, Growlf)", "Fantasy Figures", "Robert's Female", "Robert's Male"
"
allows multiple selections? It should. Otherwise male and female need to be seperated.)

Thanks for the comments, bg2408.

I have now uploaded new versions of both installers, hopefully getting everything right now. They're available http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25266.

One less important point. I didn't manage to find good description for all options, so some of them have empty description, especially "Optional Fangs", "More Eyes", and the diversity options. It would be great if you could provide it (or point me to it).
