So I plan on making a stealthy Nightblade because that's my playstyle and it's what I enjoy the most in MMO's. My decision lies with the race selection.

I'm probably going to get steamrolled for this but I absolutely do not like the Khajit race. Just doesn't do it for me. However I hear they're the best race for being a stealthy assassin and they have the best stealth traits out of all the races. However I look at the Bosmer (Wood Elf) race and they have the exact same "Stealth" racials as the Khajit.

So my question is, how much am I gimping myself if I play the Bosmer race instead of Khajit?

A bow-equipped Bosmer Nightblade would be just fine, IMO. Also a Dunmer would make an OK nightblade, given the Dunmer has dual-wield and various Magic-related racial skills.

Going with redguard myself, simply for aesthetical reasons (my first MMO character ever was a saracen infiltrator in DAoC and this is as close as it gets )

If you are planning a build based on physical attacks, redguard is one of the best choices (For me the best).

Ok so let's say we take the aesthetics out of it. What would be the top 3 races in order, and why?

Why is noone mentioning an orc, his sprint bonus is pretty nice in the longrun..?

Khajiit by a land slide(if you're a min/maxer), especially if you wanto melee, increased damage from stealth and 15% crit damage in melee on top of that, all stealth attacks auto crit if i recall correctly so that's a pretty heafty bonus.

Don't take my word for it tho, i'm just a weekend tester but that's what i've gathered.

Bosmer are good too tho, you don't really need to use a bow, the weapon specilization just makes it level faster and is a non factor once you hit level50. I'd look for stats that are harder to come by on gear and from what i understand, the damage from stealth bonus is only avalible to Bosmer and Khajiit.

I sincerelt doubt you'll be "gimped" if you're not Khajiit, carnage is very powerful but it's very powerful for a racial, it won't win fights for you but you'll definently have a slight edge over non Khajiit Nightblades who melee.

Besides, racals will get balanced, going with a race you hate beacuse of a racial that's likely to get nerfed will make you feel like a fool when it does and you'll be stuck with a race that bugs you.

Go Bosmer and you have a race that's still great for Nightblades and you'll be happy with the looks.

But like i said, i'm working on mostly hearsay, the weekend betas and experience with past MMO's but that's my 2 cents.

Khajiit are said to be the best because they have a bonus to crit chance and damage, not only because of Stealthy.

Probably Khajiit, Bosmer and Redguard. Not sure in what order, Bosmer have Stealthy, but Redguards have more stamina.

Could be useful for an archer, I guess. Easier kiting.

Bosmer is a solid race for NB. But my opinion is play what you like first, then try to min/max what you are having fun. Fun > Min/max Efficiency.

I'm tempted to try(and probably will) an Argonian NB DW / Restoration Staff with max Amphibious Skill Racial Tree, max Catalyst Skill from the NB Siphoning Tree and max Medicinal Use from the Alchemy Tree.

I should have 15% + 20% = 35% more potion effectiveness (Racial Tree + Nightblade Siphoning Tree) plus resulting effects from potions last 30% longer (Alchemy Tree). (8 Skill Points Total)

Although this NB goes for Tanking/Survivability as i'm oriented to Siphoning Tree.

Im tempted to go Orc for the 15% sprint boost, its a nice thing to have when you are chasing a prey.

I'm creating a Breton NB with Daggers/Bow. No doubt Bosmer/Khajit will be the "best" race for NB, but I really hate Khajit. I tend to go with what I like, if its slightly weaker than other people then so be it, I'll just use my superior gaming ability catch up .

Khajiit are hands down the best nightblade race. Carnage is awesome and it may or may not partially apply to bows. They get the stealth bonus, and increased health regeneration is never a bad thing.

Redguards might be the next best. They have a ton of stamina regen and an ability that specifically gives more stamina to fast attacking dual wielders.

Bosmer (wood elves) have +stealth, but I don't get why people make a big deal about their +experience gain when using bows... that's not going to do anything for you at level cap, which is where you'll spend most of your time. They DON'T make the best archers.

Dunmer (dark elves) are like the Bosmer, their ambidexterity skill only increases experience gains... which wont matter to you at max level.

Bosmer's have the same stealth range as Khajit and they have the stamina regen as well. The bow thing is just they get 15% xp when using bow, that's all and it doesn't matter at max level. The stealth, the poison resist, and the stam regen could come in handy. Dunno.

Yeah right, Nords are so much better suited for stealth than Bosmer...

I don't know either. That's why I wonder why s/he put Bosmer at number 9.

Why would you put Bosmer at #9 out of 10?

They have stamina regen and the best stealth in the game besides Khajit's. I'm confused.

Why should he belive you? Bosmer have increased damage from stealth and increased stam regen, but somehow Redguards are better beacuse they get increased max stam that is easily covered by gear?

Not to mention bosmer get abit of increased max stam aswell.

I love it how people keep ranking the races and give absolutely no explination as to why
