Damn polls...

I don't know where to start mate. Try to make it a bit more organized and easier to vote. Or just post what you would like to see in the suggestion thread.

Orsimer less ugly and should look more like they're actually "mer" (make them basically green elves), the latter goes for Bretons too, Bosmer less annoying, Dunmer more badass (get those tattoos ans spiky hairstyles back) and the beasties more beastlike.

There's only options for annoying Bosmer, only options for bent legs, only options for footwear restriction... you need to have opposing options in polls to get a sense of proportion.

Is it me or did the average Dunmer in Cyrodiil look like "flyyyy-in' in the skyyyy" while the Vvardenfell Dunmer all looked like they were tribal warriors that were about to do something creepy every sec?

I agree with the folks above, it would be a bit easier to complete this poll if there were opposing choices

Personally I'd like the not very realistic to be implemented, but definitely (IMO) cool option of specifying not only your race but your ancestry as well. Imperials would get Nibenese and Colovians; Bretons - Iliac, Reachmen, maybe the Bjoulsae Horse-People mentioned in some book in OB (or I think it was OB); Redguards - Crown and Forebear; Nords - Reach and Eastern; Dunmer - Ashlander and House; Orcs - Cosmopolitan and Wrothgar; Khajiiti - different species, or maybe just nomad and urban if they keep it one species per game (as they probably will). Not too big on Altmer, Bosmer and Argonians, but I'm sure there are distinct groups within those races. Descriptions are broad enough to leave a lot of room for the player, doesn't even mean the PC is from the specified region, just that his ancestors hail from there. It'd give you some differing skill bonuses, some difference in appearance (say, Nibenese tattoos and a bit more Nordic look for Colovians, while Reachmen would be more elvenlike than Iliac Bretons) and maybe disposition changes inside your own race if there was some way to tie it to more obvious displays of your ancestry in your appearance (Colovians and Nibenese don't like each other that much; Crown and Forebear Redguards seem to downright hate each other). However, it'd probably be quite a lot of work for a none too major feature, so as I said, I don't have much hope of seeing this in the game.

Dremora need a little back story

Ummmmm what? They already have plenty of lore behind them.

Just to get you started.... Dremora have a rigid caste structure, divided into many tiers. In hierarchical order, these are Churl, Caitiff, Kynval, Kynreeve, Kynmarcher, Markynaz, and Valkynaz. Powerful Dremora are sometimes called "Daedra Lords."

--

I am hoping that they bring back the deep Dunmer voice. Dunmer in OB sounded terrible.
And Beasts should be beastly!

They should put a limit on how many polls someone can make each day...

You have some good ideas here. I want the Orcs to look like the Uruk-hai from LOTR - dirty, greasy and cruel.

Also if you don't agree with any of the options in a chosen category, you cannot cast a valid vote, because it considers you didn't vote by leaving certain section blank. Without having opposing selections one is forced to vote one way in order for a vote to even be cast.

I vote dofr more things but these are the ones I care the most:

Beast Races should be more beastly;
Human races should look like they do in lore;
All races should be easy to tell apart;
Have multiple voices per race;

Less annoying bosmers, more lizard-like argonians, Nords should be viking-themed, and Roman themed Imperials.

Exactly what are Redguards based off of ? Egyptians perhaps? I know my name says Yokudan but I'm still new to the lore and a little unsure. :)

There are either agreeing with the poll options or not voting at all. As the other person said, it doesn't allow for options.

For example I'd vote for more whisker/fur thickness options for the Khajiit and I'd vote for more custom options for Argonians but I prefer humanoid legs (but with claws instead of toe nails). The only comprehensive options support one view point in the poll.

I don't think any TES race is truly based off of any single real world culture. However, the closest to Redguards (or, more appropriately, Yokudans, based off of what little I know about Yokuda; modern Redguards seem much more difficult to tag and it's best to steer clear of that) would be Japanese IMO.

It seems some people absolutely want their Dunmer to look like the natives from Morrowind. But let me ask you, if your character grew up on a farm in Skyrim... why would his skin look like an ashlander? Sure, some want to roleplay that their characters came from Morrowind and that's fine, then they can have ashlander-skin. Otherwise it does not make any sense to me :shrug:

And the orcs ahould look less fluorescent and maybe have a more rough skin. And I am bored with orc faces being 50 % teeth sticking out of their mouth in every direction. I'd like their bodies to be wider too.

And why should khajiit have whiskers? Whiskers are to help felines find out if they will fit through a small opening. A khajiit with footlong whiskers would look silly :P

And no feathers on the argonians, please :)

I think different body types are what we're after: In Oblivion they all shared the same body, apart from head and tail.
While it could be problematic for clothing and armour, elves should always look slimmer than orcs.
Beasts should have different animations and postures.
I would also like Argonians to have a crocodile like swim animations and for Khajiit to have smoothly 'wagging' tails.

All the Bosmers looked small and fat imo in Oblivion, they should have a physique that matches their height and size.
