I would never play as any race besides a Khajiit. They are the best. Everything else, not so much.

I don't ussualy play as a male bosmer, Unless I fix their height in the tes CS. Even though, they still sound like wimps.
Nords were cool in Morrowind, but sounded constipated in Oblivion, and looked like asses (donkey ass).

I've never seriously played either of the beast races unless to go goof around, and I've never really wanted to play an Orc because I'd rather just be a Nord if I'm going to just play as a berserker.

Dunmer and Redguards for me. Dunmer I just dont like and when it comes to Redguards, I'd rather just be an Imperial with Warrior birthsign.

There isn't a race I haven't played.

Probably my least favorite is Khajiit. I love the concept, but I don't like the way they're done in the game. They just look like humans in cat costumes. Their heads don't match up right with their bodies and their tails look completely fake. And if you carry a claymore, it cuts into the tail with every step, which drives me crazy.

I've only played a couple of Altmer, mostly because they're tall and weak, which just isn't an appealing combination to me.

More than anything else, I play Bretons, Redguards, Dunmer and Bosmer.

By Orsinium! Far too many people don't play as the Pariah elves!

I tend to avoid straight warrior types like Orcs or Red Guards. That and I find Orcs ugly to put it bluntly and yes I'm that shallow and find Red Guards intolerance for many schools of magic as a turn off no matter what roleplay I'm using. Atleast with Nords they could be healers depending on what game you are playing.

Redguards cause if I'm playing a warrior I'll go with a Nord
Argonians cause I've never really understood their use, don't seem to specialize at anything
Bosmer, because Bosmer

I play a lot of Nords and Orcs because I like to kill things. Most played character was a 400+ hour Nord. Also the occasional Dark Elf or Breton for the conservative warrior

Imperials also seem kinda useless, but I've played a couple. Altmer are too frail for me. Khajiit just annoy me, I like the concept but I don't think they were done very well in Oblivion

Breathing Under water. Much better in Oblivion than Morrowind.

I have NEVER been, an Orc an Altmer, and a Khajit {Oh and Redguard}.
I made a Breton once.

I almost play female Dunmer exclusively. Usually as some sort of spell sword.

But when it comes to warriors the obvious choice is Redguards. Imperials are laughable as warriors and Nords are a joke. Plus when I roleplay I like to play as differently from myself as possible.

I mostly play as Stealthy Bosmers, with Warrior-Mage Nords and Mage-Warrior Dunmers as prominent alternatives.

But I have tested all the races, except that I did not took off with Orcs, Khajits, Argonians and Imperials.

As for Bretons, Red guards and Altmers, I play them as a change of flavor, or something.

Edit:

As for names: I do not remember them right now, but they would be some fantasy names that match the character's race and class.

Redguard, Imperial, Khajiit, Bosmer are the four I haven't played for a substantial time. I've generally stuck to Argonian and Breton.

Imperials, Bretons, Redguards, and Orcs. I dunno why; I've just never been interested in playing as any of those races. I've also never played as an Argonian, but I'm not opposed to it the way I am the others.

Altmer/High Elf- Don't use Magic that seriously, and I usually use swords which they aren't good with.
Breton- Same as above
Bosmer/Wood Elf- Not my style, if I want a sneaky archer sort of guy use Khajiit
Dunmer/Dark Elf- Just cuz'
Redguard- I want some magic, with mostly melee. Not only melee.
Orcs- Don't like em. nasty creatures they is.

I don't play:
Altmer (anyone who knows me knows why by now)
Khajiit (I hate cats)
Bosmer (I just don't like mer)
Dunmer (see Bosmer)
Imperials (it's not because they're bland, but I keep typecasting them into the civilized race, who speaks well, and fights strategically. That is not any of my characters)

I do play:
Nords, Argonians, Redguards, Bretons, and Orsimer.

I never play as Redguards for obvious reasons.

Obvious how?

Imperials (mostly because I don't like the bonuses), and Orcs (mostly because they're ugly as sin and I prefer Nords for tanks). I think I've had at least one character for every other race. Though I don't play as Khajit too much and prefer Bosmer and Argonian for characters that rely on those skills...
