Racial ability confirmed

Post » Sun Jul 03, 2011 5:07 am

Hello, I was rewatching gamespot's gameplay video and noticed something that could confirm the Nord's cold resistance ability

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9MBqdME14I

at 3:09 you can see the giant's blow making a noticeable amount of damage, while at 4:40 the Dragon's ice breath (which should be a creature of much more stronger attacks) apparently does none.

I could be mistaken because of the PC's uber health regeneration, and even if it indeed is cold resistance I know it is a rather unimportant observation, but methinks that some speculation different from the Greaves debate and the Q&A waiting would be nice

Oh, and sorry if someone mentioned this before.

You are mistaken for Todd's uber leetness, he had 999 hp in the demo. And the dragon could of missed? Probably why it didn't shave off any damage.

There is every reason to believe that Nords have frost resistance.

Well obviously, racial abilites and specialties in skills have been cofirmed awhile back. I'm just saying that in this instance, the dragon missed Todd with his frost attack.

Nice observation! As stated, racial abilities are confirmed already, but nice to see some visual "proof" (or as close as we can get right now) of them.

This is one factor that could have affected the damage he received from the dragon, but also, being dragonborn wouldnt you have a natural resistance to dragon shouts anyway?
