Radiant quest log and NPC armor stuck, need a bit o' help

Post » Thu Nov 14, 2013 5:47 pm

I've two minor problems with the game that I'd like to fix, if possible...

1) The radiant quest, "Locate Valdr's Hunting Party" is stuck in my log. I finished the quest, but the entry still remains and points to Valdr, who is happily back in Falkreath and has no interactive dialogue. He just says thanks for what I did for him. Is there a way to remove that objective from the log, mark it as completed?

2) I am using the CBBE body mod with the skimpy armors mod but a few of them (the armors) are buggy. Two armors specifically for females aren't biped properly for the forearms. It looks strange with thei arms folded back into their torsos. I have Rayya as my housecarl and her default armor is one of the buggy ones. I made her my follower and gave her Dwarven armor - which fixed her arms. The problem is that when I retire her as my follower and let her resume her housecarl duties, she returns to wearing her default armor. I know that if I remove her default armor via the console, she will walk around naked instead of wearing the Dwarven armor. I don't want a nvde housecarl. Is there a way to get her to wear the dwarven armor instead of her default armor?

Any help is appreciated... :icecream:

Not sure how to clear the quest journal on a Radiant Quest, but if you can find the quest id, then you should be able to clear, end or set the stage on the quest. What this won't do is clear or set any flags that may be needed for a quest to be completed. Can you load a save from before you got this quest?

As for the Housecarls, they always revert back to their stock armor when you dismiss them, then they will put the armor on that you gave them when you hire them again. Note, sometimes you have to change a cell (go outside) to see this change. There are follower mods that stop the clothing changes.

As for the messed up arms and what not, best thing to try is to reinstall the mod. I had to do that couple of times with that mod. Also, I tried to use the Body Slider once and my NPCs got the black outfits from doing that.

As for the quest, you have to kill the spriggans, kill their pets, and locate the 2 bodies, Then you receive an enchanted dagger from Valdr. Did this come about??

If not, then you forgot to do something. If you did all of this, then follow CCNA's advice or load an earlier save.

Yeah, I did all that, completed the quest and got the lucky dagger. But the journal didn't update. Unless someone has an alternate plan, I'll try looking up the quest ID in the CK and see if I can set it as completed in the console. Anyone know where I might find said quest ID (and don't say in the quest list...hahaha)?
