Radiant quests buggy as #@&*%

I'm using the radiant system for some missions to take my guards out for an evaluation. There are a couple of main problems I'm having that I'd like some feedback on. Basically, you just set up a set of aliases, and tell it what to look for, and it fills the aliases when the quest begins. However, sometimes it fills the alias for my Boss with an actor that is dead when my players get there. Some have been able to resurrect the dead guy and kill him again and complete the mission. Others have not been so fortunate and are getting stuck with having to set the next stage with the console.

Is there a way I can condition the Boss alias so that it does not fill it with a dead guy? (Something like GetDead maybe?)

Secondly, one of my radiant quests is simply to any dungeon with a Dragur boss. It sometimes picks Dimhollow Crypt which is a Dawnguard location. Is there a way I can condition it not to pick that dungeon without making my mod dependent on Dawnguard. It's in The Pale, so even something that could pick anywhere but The Pale would be fine.

Is anyone else making use of the radiant system, and are you getting similar results?

1. Don't check 'Allow Dead' on the boss alias. It will fail instead of filling with a dead guy.

2. Look at the bounty quests, you can check the parent location to ensure it's not in The Pale. If you don't know how yet, I'll check when I have the CK open later tonight but that won't be for a while.

1 - I don't have allow dead checked on any of them silly! (I'm kinda slow, but not THAT slow!)

2 - OK, I'll do some more digging.

thx!

OK, I checked the tutorial again, and confirmed that all my Location aliases are in fact above all my boss aliases, so that can be eliminated as well. However, I did have my own actors above the Location and Boss alias here and there, but the tutorial didn't mention that. But for good measure, I moved all my aliases below the quest specific aliases, so they all look like this now:

Location

Boss

Marker

MyActor01

MyActor02

Hmmm. I wish I had more experience with radiant quests. In my experience, with any quest, if you haven't checked 'Allow Dead' then the alias can NOT be filled by a dead actor.

Perhaps the actors are dying after the alias fills? That may be possible still, in which case you'd need to figure out what's killing them. Perhaps refine your selection of bosses?
