Radio room needs an external broadcast toggle please

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 11:53 am

I like having the radio room up and running because it helps with dweller happiness but I'm just under the dweller cap (I have the max I want, 195) and people keep lining up at the vault door so I have to accept them into the vault then immediately send them out with no supplies to kill them. Feels kinda wrong, "Hey everyone, come to our vault, it's awesome." Someone shows up "go out and die." If there was a toggle to set the radio room to only broadcast internally, like the vault's own radio station, that would be awesome. I kinda feel bad for luring all these poor wastelanders to their deaths.

That would be appreciated. A vault PA system, like in the games.

Can't you just leave the people outside the vault? If not, you can just stop "collecting" the room. That's what I did before getting rid of the room altogether.

That would be very nice...just an option to stop broadcasting in the wasteland and just keep your dwellers happy. Then if you need new people switch it on again.

No and no.

I can't leave the people out because with too many people waiting y explorers can't get back. Also, the radio room doubles as my kill room and I can't heal my guards unless I collect from the room. They'd be fine for maybe a half dozen raider attacks or a couple deathclaw attacks, but they'd probably die after that if not healed.

Oh, hmm. You can get to your people without collecting, either by selecting them from the dweller list or(if I remember correctly) zooming in very closely on the dweller so you don't see the resource icon. Those are both pretty inconvenient options though. It'd be a lot easier to move the station somewhere out of harm's way.

Yeah but that'd be less efficient lol. As it is my guards pull double duty. I have no one at the entrance because that's actually counterproductive. The first room attackers come to after that is my 3 wide radio room with 6 lvl 50 dwellers with all 10 stats and my highest damage weapons. Raiders don't last 2 seconds in this room. Deathclaws will fight through, but not before one dies and the other two are severely wounded. The 2 survivng deathclaws then drop down to the second level into my second kill room that happens to be a nuclear plant. It is staffed with 6 lvl 50 dwellers with all 10 stats and high damage weapons. Raiders never see this room but the deathclaws that come die within 3 or 4 seconds.
