Radio room not so bad, but question...

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 3:27 am

I have a 2 cell with only one upgrade left (6700 caps...that's a lot).

First, is it worth the last upgrade? Second, do people have 3 cells or even multiple radio suites?

I have been pretty happy with the station, I get a few people a day coming in despite hearing other people's complaints. In general, I've had no snags or bugs so far. Pretty solid game on my iPad Air.

I've actually had great luck with the game. Hope everyone else does.

i also womder about the radio room...to me it actually seems like a waste of space, an unneccessary power drain and an unproductive use of 2-6 dwellers.

because, once you reach 200, theres no point in trying to call more dwellers.

the dwellers the radio room calls have inferior stats compared to ones you can create through breeding.

it takes a long time just to call 1 new dweller.

moving people in and out of it screws with your happiness rating.

now, if the radio room had a chance to call rare and legendary dwellers, i would have a higher opinion, but it seems it only calls commons. my current vault has no radio room, no charisma training and i am at 161 and just fine without it.

Essentially you have a room that gives you %1 to your happniess. But if you are over 90%, does it really matter at that point?

I only got radio room because I can't be bothered to destroy it.

I agree at three so leveled out radio room should be calling higher level dwellers at least some of the time that would make sense

i've seen my radio room boost happiness by 5% for each person i put in it...maybe that's because i waited for them all to train up to 10 charisma and put nightwear on them. I dunno, but my radio room boosted it more than just 1%.

the problem is if you pull those people back out of the radio room, your global happiness drops by whatever amount they boosted it when you put them in there.

and for some reason, in the vault i had the radio room, my happiness ended up stuck at 99% even though everyone in the vault was 100% the ranking would not change from 99%. i'm guessing there was some unrounded fraction in there somewhere.

in my new vault, i'm up to 200 dwellers with no radio room, no max charismas, i don't even have a charisma training room.

although...200 dwellers is causing me other problems, the game is crashing every 15 minutes now and it is struggling when i open the dweller list or try to equip people. I may have to kill off some of these people. the game felt more stable at 160. it ran perfectly at 100 dwellers but my vault felt too small and there was so much empty space it felt lame to stay so small.

As far as the dwellers you attract, yes it seems pointless. My babies have better stats.

I concur all the complaints above on the Radio Studio and I'd like add one more. Working on the Radio Studio does not give experience point to dwellers working on it, so no leveling up in Radio studio. Due to this, It is hard to level up dwellers with Charisma as primary stat. Radio studio is kind of production facility (producing new dweller),so working in it should give XP to dweller, just like working in Med Bay or Sci Lab. It is quite different from Storage Room or Living Quarters.

It doesn't just bring in dwellers from the wasteland, it boosts happiness of your dwellers which allows you to rush rooms without a care.
