Radio Skyrim

Three Wizard here owwwwwwwww!!! and you're listening to Radio sjyrim.

Ok so i know there won't be a radio station, but it got me wondering if there was one how would it go about
broadcasting in skyrim, and what type of songs they would play.

I thought it it would be done by some sort of crystals.

Well it would start by the wizard talking or playing songs into a small crystal, which would send it to a larger cyrstal to
be infused with magic, after this it would be sent to a huge crystal sitting on top of the wizards tower to be sent out to skyrim.
To pick this up, you need a smaller stone sized crystal infused with magic to turn it back into sound.

As for the songs they would play i'm not too sure.

It would be cool if there was a radio station but this the elder scrolls so i know it wouldn't fit.
So if you got any ideas about how it would be done or what songs they would play just comment on it.

I want something like a news broadcast, even if it doesn't fit in. i never had time to read the Black horse courier. No music though.
In fallout 3 i could listen to the news for hours LOL.

You again? I remember you were flamed and bashed for this idea months ago. Yet you return with similar ideas. I will await and see what everyone has to say about this. But you've been warned :)

It could be cool, to have bards in the cities sing your tales, and then saying stuff man that was you, awesome!

But no magic radio.

Lies!

But why respost an idea that was frowned upon?

This.

Just have bards sing your tales, not a "magic" radio.

Yeah, pretty terrible idea IMO. Radio stations don't really belong in a fantasy game set in the middle ages...

Im not sure if this is such a good idea, I was just fine listening to the lovely background music while exploring around Oblivion. No extra music is needed.

I think that would be kinda cool, but anything similar to a radio would make most of the fanbase go nuts I think. It would also be modded out after about 3 hours if I were to guess.

Wait. So you didn't know about anynone who made a thread like this and you remembed the "Justins" guy who made a similar thread? That's contradictory. We may not have great memories, but I know a liar when I see one.

Adding any modern day technology then repainting it as magic is lame in my opinion.

Fair enough. But your idea sounds exactly the same as the other dude. I mean, it's a strange coinscedence. Can I have the Skooma you're taking? :P

My Idea: Seeing a news-type broadcast brought to you by the Skyrim's branch of the College of Whispers (the Mages Guild died about 10 years after the Oblivion crisis) that resembles a TV and is set up so you get the broadcast through a large enchanted mirror. There's one in the center of each major town and city.

I can imagine. And there has been many topics lately. But not about magic radios....I can imagine Bethesda incorporating this in the game.

"Good evening Skyrim! This is the Bard News of Tam-Re-al and we are going to go over some important news that not even the Black Horse Courier of Cyrodiil could top. This is your host, Huurp-His-Derp. This just in, Maiq Da Liar lied about his romance with a woman called En-Pee-See. Guards discovered he ran a Skooma cult and upon finding his hideout, made an effort to find the feline swine and bring him to justice. We soon discovered Maiq riding atop a mount which was a dragon with a spear in hand. We do not know how he managed to wield a spear, as we could not find any in Skyrim. The guards are in hot pursuit while Maiq learns the skill to shape-shift into a dragon.”

^Sorry, I have a wild imagination.

Errrm Skyrim radio even if disguised as magic seems weird for the setting. To make it work they'd have to create some elaborate back story, like some wayward wizard discovers a cursed daedric artifact that shackles his voice to the clouds... or something :P

Don't sit too close to the optical crystal, you'll ruin your eyes. :shocking:
