Hold on, I am still trying to imagine how hideous rap would be in my Fallout.

I think it'd be better to focus on an individual era not just random songs from the past 100 years, probably music from somewhere between the 50's and 60's... theres so much good music to potentially choose from, but too many era's/decades would probably dilute the feel of the game music

Wayne Newton, some of his older songs when he looked like a chubby 16 year old kid playing all the hip joints.

This. The only possible 0.0009% chance of rap having any kind of semi-successful appearance in Fallout 4 would be in a consumer commercial for the game, and even that is pushing it. As for the Beatles, it's too modern.

MOAR DINO!

Marty Robbins. In Particular: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YF9AALr0m8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1en1XB04csU (Saddle Tramp would be very suiting for the Player Character)
Some Andrews Sisters
Peggy Lee
Django Reinhardt

I could go on and on honestly.

Bethesda re-used "Maybe" from Fallout in FO3, so you may be in with a chance there, mate.

In Fallout 4 there will be a radio station where they just play Harry Belafonte all day long (100% true)

Punk, no, but Johnny Cash, yes.

Seeing as the aesthetics of Fallout are rooted in the '50s, and has only ever featured music from about 1937-1960, I'm pretty sure you won't hear punk on the radio.

Now I'm no expert on musick from the 40's and the 50's but it feels like the music in earlier falloutgames have been almost exclusively jazz. Well, and country in NV. I'd love to hear some folk music like Woody Guthrie and John Jacob Niles. And maybe some blues. That would be sweet.

Pretty much any of the music used in bioshock 2 would fit the fallout world well. But...

It needs to sound scratchy and old like that. I always kind of disliked it in fo 3 and NV that the old style music that was coming through my rickety wrist radio sounded like it was coming out of a Bose speaker. It shouldn't sound clear and crisp, it should be scratchy and muffled, that's what id expect in a post apocalypse.

If we are in the southwest, more old country, and maybe some Mexican music would be nice. With older American music as well. If we are in east like everyone assumes, older 20's 30's and 40's music like we've already gotten, but throw in a little more rock n roll like Elvis and what not.

Been listening to some Calypso music recently. Lord Kitchener especially.

I picked this one up today on Youtube and thought it'd go very well with a London based Fallout (i.e. my idea for a sequel, though if anyone else has ideas for one based in London, try this one out)

Rockin Robin-Bobby day

The bird is the word

Monster Mash

Tutti Frutti

Rock around the clock

And a radio station that you can start up that allows you to put your own music in the game

How I wish Armstrong's Wonderul World wasn't ten years too young. It's every bit as perfect for the game as I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire.

Let me preface this by saying I know it doesn't fit and I wouldn't actually want it in the game.... Unless it could be explained in a good way that didn't break lore like maybe a band has assembled that has no lead singer... Never mind that.

I have been listening to the band Pelican more specifically the album What We All Come To Need and it really writes a story set in a post apocalyptic world. The great part about it writing this story (I know that is subjective) is that there are no lyrics, it is just a rock instrumental band.

However Pelican could not take place of Fallout sound tracks. They really are so great with the irony and lightheartedness they bring. That is what should be in my ears when I travel post war Boston in the next few years.

I wouldn't mind some Robert Johnson as a real suggestion but not cross road blues.

I know this may seem odd but I'd like alittle jazz and bluegrass (I know odd mix) both are pre 50's and would be a nice break from dam swing music. If I'm totally honest I'd like some newer music maybe 60's stuff the world did not stop in 1959 the had over 100 years to write new songs plus all people love music so new folk songs would have been written prity soon after the war both in the vaults and the wast , could even be about the earlier games which could be fun

Megadeth's Set the world Afire.

In fallout 3 everytime I hear the intro where its like "I don't want to set the world on fire... I just want to set a spark in your heart" I always think of the Megadeth song that follows after. As that's the same old song they use in the intro of their song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHOW_9Ypomw.
