Radio songs you would like to see in Future Fallout titles..

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 9:55 am

I would love a revamped version of "Rum and CocoCola" by the Andrew Sisters and do a version of "Rum and NukaCola". I would like it to be kept to mostly 40's music. I think I would be a little disappointed if they moved past the 40's onto 50's or beyond. On another note, I would like to see more big band and don't just play country like they did for NV just because it was the desert it should have always been mixed in.

Some Armstrong, classical, bluegrass, and classic Fallout jazz would be just fine for me . While It'd make sense for new music to be created in the Fallout universe I don't want to hear it in game, it'd ruin my immersion, in a way.

In only a word or two... how? Myself... I'd be fine even with Iggy Pop appearing in FO4.
(Provided it was the Fallout world's http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/IggyPop-1-1_zps357123f7.jpg. )

I could see this in New Vegas... maybe FO4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ANI6oj8p2M

Been thinking...I'd like to see morehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AEjBnptObQ in Fallout. Doesn't seem to be an unreasonable request. In particular, I'd like to hear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9FZMHNhJ80.

Lots of Sinatra, though I can see lots of Bob Crosby like we saw in Fallout 3

Agreed. Bioshock Infinite did a clever thing where it took later music and made it sound old. Sounded perfect, Bethesda should do the same for Fallout.

So maybe the next game should do something like this?

I think that example is brilliant but it's more appropriate to BI where there's a lot of interdimenstional wibbley wimey timey wimey stuff whereas Fallout's been established as simply cultural stagnation.

lol. Funny vid. I mean they also made it sound old in the audio itself, where it cracks a lot and hazy.

Ran across this thread searching for something else, sorry for the necro.

Still missing a 20th song, but had this idea and would happily put together a third version if enough suggestions come in.

Dare you to listen to this the whole way through and not have any get stuck in your head.

Well assuming we are keeping its pre-1960s, any music works really.
If we could include some bands in the 60s, I would like Black Sabbath, or something similar.

I was disappointed in New Vegas when I got to the Kings area, and there was no Elvis music at all in the game. Seemed off to me.

Sabbath isn't even remotely close to appropriate material for any Fallout game. Most 60's era songs aren't suitable either...with a few exceptions, but that's mostly from artists who had been around since the 40's And 50's.

As for Elvis, i would've liked to have this as well, but can you imagine the type of money it woul've taken to get this in game? I'd imagine it would be a pretty penny.

Hopefully now they use some of that cash gained from Skyrim, and use it well for the next Fallout game. Expand the radios a bit, even if they have to make music themselves, lol.

TBH, I'd rather they take that money and use it to hire some competent writers instead.

Bob Crosby:

"Fool's Paradise"
"Sing to Me"
"Bye bye, Baby"

Maybe "Politics" too.

I'd imagine it stays with the 50's. However, I heard this for the first time in almost 30 years... just last night.

It made me think of Fallout.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izQB2-Kmiic

And then there is this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5Xl0Qry-hA&list=RD15SbyAZQ45uww

Just some of my favs.

Almost forgot to put in "Dear Hearts and Gentle People." I think that they were actually planning to put it in FO3. Great song.

I agree with the suggestions of Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down" and Nancy Sinatra's "Bang, Bang". I'd also love to hear Vera Lynn's "We'll Meet Again" since it is of the appropriate time period and war theme.
