First, the music licensing business being what it is, game companies are limited in their choices of music, and they can't afford much of it. They have to pay a price for everyone who ever buys the game to the music publishers/copyright owners.

Anyway, that lawyer stuff aside, I always hear "Welcome to the Jungle" in my head when I walk into Freeside for the first time with a character.

To fit in the themes, some Sinatra would nice, in fact music from any of the "Rat Pack" would be good in this game.

If they ever did a Florida-based Fallout, some classic Cuban music would be in order. Beny More is like the equivalent of Sinatra or Nat King Cole in Cuba.

It would be unique, to say the least, to have one radio channel devoted to classic Latin/Cuban music in addition to the usual 30's/40's/50's flair.

Ew! Not the Robbie Williams one! Bobby Darin's version sounds so much better, not to mention Bobby Darin's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEllHMWkXEU.

If FO4 is in a western location some Johnny Cash could make for some great travels at night. Long Black Veil and some nightkin in the middle of the night could go together perfectly!

Instead of being concerned about music, I'd rather see more dialog for the radio, and perhaps more radios stations with political agendas, and mysterious signals that lead to interesting locations, perhaps. As long as extending the music selection is possible with mods, I'd be happy with a dozen or so built in songs. it would be quite interesting to gain faction with one station and lose it with another,

THIS. I loved Mr. New Vegas the first time I played the game. Now I want to pour hot coffee on his circuits! Cool radio signals to find loot would be cool too, like the ones in FO3.

Well, add "Under the Sea" to GNR, bring in the New Vegas Radio station, and Enclave Radio, and I think we have enough songs to last forever.

Roy Hamilton - You can have her, Don't let go
Richie Valens - Come on lets go
Sreamin Jaw Hawkins - I put a spell on you
Chuck Berry - No particular place to go
Billy Merman - 900 miles

Might be a decade or so off.

I agree with this. They don't have to buy rights to old songs to do this, and it adds an enormous amount of immersion if you have more than one or two radio stations to pick from. I just hope the stations aren't one being obviously evil and one being obviously good. It would be nice to see some ideological clashing over the airwaves.

Though I wouldn't mind seeing a classical station with Beethoven and Bach, and that stuff is all free.

Only one song I really really think would be an excellent addition to the series...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2VCwBzGdPM. A bit ironic that in the Fallout world, there ain't nothin' wonderful about it. That's why I think it fits perfectly.

I liked the first one a lot.

I like the 50's blues and jazz sound a bit more than the western folk of Fallout.

I hope they add maybe some chicago style blues to acquaint rock and roll and Fallout.

I've listed a few which would be good for a Fallout set in London. They would be mostly '40s songs (to give a wartime atmosphere)

TBH, some of these are very Fallout. Glenn Miller, Andrews Sisters etc. Even included Ink Spots, as you CANNOT have a Fallout soundtrack without them...

(please note this is from my own blog, and part of my fledgling idea for a full game)

I doubt rap music would work in a 50s scenario. But maybe for like the inner cities. Ones like freeside. Otherwise I think the only thing that I would remotely "like" to hear is 60s Rock. Even though I hate it it's better than "In eeeeveeerryyy liiife sooome raaaaaiiiin must fall"

The Beatles were in the 60's...

Everyone, keep the music to 1930's through 1950's only. 1960's is much too modern, and who the Hell wanted rap?! I don't even...

-------------------------------------------

Anyways, here's my list.

Alan Gray
Frank Sinatra
The Ink Spots
Bing Crosby
Billie Holiday
Woody Herman
Charlie Parker
Dean Martin
Glenn Miller
Louis Armstrong
Gerhard Trede
Sid Phillips
Cole Porter
Bob Crosby

That would not fit at all. Like, I can't even imagine that. Can someone imagine that for me?
