From personal experience I can say that most people that Rage are people that are
1) Immature and play games for more than fun and worry a lot about their K/D ratio
2) Have not smoked enough ganja
C) Don't understand the game and die every 10 seconds

You will always find that annoying pre-tween boy screaming into the Mic while another player skillfully dispatches his pitiful character in every game.

But in Brink, you can only hear the Mic's of your friends. So we're good.

If they happen to send you a message, respond with a "U Mad Bro?" and be on your merry way. :)

This, or my more in-your-face approach, "You're dead and I'm not, mean I win and you lose."

They cant possibly counter-insult you without being a complete idiot, at which point, you KNOW you've won.

P.S. B4 you read this, most of the stuff I gripe about is losey game connection and basic BS in gameplay.

One right here XD LOL!!! I've been known to get a bit aggressive lol and frankly I don't mind admitting it. I've done my best in the last year or so to cut it down but I still have flares and spats that would make sailors pass out from shock.

The way I see it is there are plenty of Sports fans that get riled up to the point of rioting in the streets. Games are my sport, ((sort of)). I figure as those fans can get into their game, so can I to mine.

Games are meant to be intense and competitive, fun yes of course, but in games like modern day shooters...far more intensity then the past. Halo 1 I think was the last all out fun shooter when I think about it (IMO obviously). So I don't think its beyond people to express that intensity in vocalization and pyshical out bursts. Sure you're not suppose to take them so seriously but if you're in a knock down drag out fight with an opposing team, you're going to get into it.

Sure it gets annoying at times, I've apologize to my friends, even muted myself a few times just to rant but ultmiately I forgive others of doing the same when they blow.

And you should see me on a airsoft field lol. When playing me, you best call your shots or you're going to walk out hurt...guaranteed and my team supports me lol.

Game defaults to friends only for voice chat - for people questioning that, the previous default off or have to unlock things were old, and the recent interviews say it defaults to friends only.

You CAN turn on "listen to randoms" mode, but unless they do the same, they won't hear you.

Which admittedly is weird...but I can see a vast amount of the commnity either one, switching over to randoms or getting annoyed cus they can't hear/talk to anyone (not knowing they have to switch it on).

For a team based game, I don't see how it makes sense to defualt limit who you can talk too. Its just bizarre as its the first of its kind and also counter to the whole "team-work" based gameplay they want to employ so badly.

I'm going to be switching to "hear everyone" as soon as possible.

And I'll be messaging anyone who I hear talking who doesn't respond to me, and asking if they know they have to switch to "hear everyone" mode.

Same here. I mean, if they have a really good non verbal system in the game...like Bad Company's spotting system where you press certain buttons to sound out like "I need a medic"...then I can understand but this game really seems like one you want people talking a lot in.

When you're incapped, any medic will hear the guy shout "MEDIC!"
When you're low on ammo, soldiers will hear a "Low on ammo!" shout
Etc. etc. etc.

That's been thought of.
